What is the best marketing method for brand new websites?

Hi fellow warriors,

I am a newbie and I would appreciate your assistance with this subject.

I just built a new website and I am not sure how to start marketing it. There are several backlinking services (pyramids, linkwheels, directory submissions, edu, gov, web 2.0, profile signatures.. etc) out there that promise great results in the serp. Most of them deliver thousands of links within a few days.

However, I read in many articles to be careful of such services to avoid being sandboxed.

So what I would like to know is what method I should be using in all stages: start up, ranking up and after I reach first page.

Thanks for your help.

Hi - I would go for guest posts on popular related blogs. That way you might get some quick traffic, at the same time, building your link popularity... regards Allen

If its a new site, I would focus on continuing to build content on your site.

if your looking to build an authority site then you need a decent amount of content. As well as this I would agree with allenjohn, guest posting is perfect as it is quality, related backlinks.

You could also look into article marketing, although to see the best results from this you want to write decent articles. Writing quality articles with a decent length and providing value will help them get syndicated, which will benefit you even more

Getting hundreds of backlinks everyday is fine, you won't get penalized/sandboxed. You'll get penalized when you get inconsistent backlinks. So as long as you're getting consistent backlinks, it'd be fine.

just ensure you have some great content to start with and then write some articles and submit to a few directories, maybe do a press release too and some blog comments. Try getting links from relevant sites too

whatever you do you need to remain consistent and focused, dont expect results over night either ...and dont give up

First ensure your website has good content.Marketing the website for search engines needs a multi pronged approach.Build links from topical sites i.e. from websites that have relevant subject only.Even a few of them from high PR sites are valuable.Make sure the website is social bookmarked. Its important in the present day optimisation.Make a nice press release and distribute it to target websites for publication.Links from forums are fine but they dont have much weight for search engine results unless the forum is really top class.Hope this helps you.Good Luck.

Aside from PPC, creating sick content and consistent backlinking is the best way to make your site do well.
