Need honest opinions on my site

I've been working as a ghostwriter for quite some time now, and recently, one of my employers started selling my articles on her own site.Luckily, my articles are preferred by most buyers, and are sold fairly quickly once she puts them up for sale. Since I'm sick of making money by providing my articles to others, and getting paid much lower amounts than I would make by selling the articles myself, I decided to create a site on my favorite niche ( fashion) and put up fashion articles for sale. Now, I don't know much about this particular field (sales), I'm still learning, but I do want to know if I started on the right foot ( the website is in my signature). I intend to populate the site with numerous batches of articles, and I'm currently working on creating some backlinks for my site. Is it looking good? Oh, and another question: do I really have to provide samples for each batch of articles? I would prefer not to since I don't want those samples to get indexed by Google. Thanks guys!

    Hi Phantom,

    Your site looks nice, congratulations.

    2 suggestions:

    • Make sure it's clear on your front page that the products you sell are original articles. At this moment I wouldn't imagine that "products" are "articles" if I didn't know that from Warrior Forum.
    • Save excepts of your articles on pages with "nofollow, noindex" tags, so that the search engines won't index them.
    Good luck!

The design is fine, but I would suggest that you break up the text you have on the main page into shorter paragraphs, maybe even some bullet points etc. It has to be easy to digest. I didn't even read all of it because I just couldn't. Same thing with the text in your side bar.

Otherwise congratulations on making the decision that you did, you're headed in the right direction.

Edit: See your post has the same issue as the one I pointed out with your website, so I missed this which I would like to answer...lol.

You don't necessarily have to provide samples from each 'batch'. Most article writers just have general samples on their site to show the quality of their work. If people like the way you write, they won't want to see a sample from each individual batch, they'll just look at the titles to make sure it fits with what they're looking for and then purchase it.

Another way to display a writing sample without having indexable text is to have it in the form of an image. You can write it, then take a screenshot of it, and put that image up. That way Google can't index the text.

Oh, yeah, I do know I have a problem with writing large blocks of text. I'll try to break it apart a little.

As far as the indexable text is concerned, I can't believe I didn't think of turning the sample into a screenshot. Thanks a bunch!

@Neo, I had no idea such tags exist. I really am a newbie at this, but it's definitely something worth looking into. Thank you.

I'd change a few things... you could use a headline on the hompage as well as bullets and graphics to make it more eye-catching and tell people what your site is about (most people won't start reading the text block if you don't give them a good reason to do it).

But how do you intend to promote it? With SEO only? I'd try to use the Warriors For Hire section of this forum, other IM communities and email marketing (capture leads yourself, buy solo ads or look for affiliates and partners). IMO, these tactics would give you much better results in a much shorter period of time when compared to SEO.

Its a nice WP theme, but also very understated. I think you may want to make it more immediately obvious you sell articles - it's not right now.

Yes, to much shorter copy and yes to samples, presented as images (also harder to steal)....I'd give away (or charge a$1) for a small pack of 2 articles for a valid email address. Start building a list and then you'll be able to market to a group of already interested prospects. The ad idea in 'Warriors For Hire' is excellent as well. Best of Luck!

      Phantom,

I see your site is powered by WordPress - so you can install the plugin Robots Meta. Then, on the right sidebar of your add/edit page/post, will appear a spot where you can check/uncheck the options allowing or not the search engines indexing and/or following the page.

      Cheers,

thanks Neo...I made a few modifications to the site last night, but I used the picture idea to avoid the indexing thingy. I'm sure that plugin will come in handy one day

    Great looking site.
Here are a couple of suggestions though:
Your selling fashion articles correct? Your title of your front page post doesn't say anything about articles. I would change it to "Amazing Fashion Articles" or just "Fashion Articles" depending upon the keyword you want your site to be found for.

You only have articles in bold once. Once again the search engines won't really know what your site is about.

Your meta description should start out with Articles or Fashion Articles and you have way to many keywords which the search engines don't really pay much attention to but having to many could get your site penalized.

I would also check out some PLR sites that you can sell your articles on like TradeBit.com
