How to Run a Competition on Twitter

I have a gaming website and I want to throw out some microsoft points to increase my Twitter following. In the past I have seen 2K Games do Twitter comps a lot and would like to do the same.

I need to know how to send out a tweet that will get people to RT and also how to track who does RT in order for me to put them into the hat and pick a winner.

Can anyone help me please?

    I have never ran a twitter competition but twitter tells you who has retweeted your tweets... you could also create a custom #hashtag .... something like #dnfkennfkmajorcompetethingy . . . you may even use your username @username and have people use that, twitter will show everyone who has used your username in a tweet.
