would you be interested in this course?

Hey Guys!

I am a professional snooker player looking to create a snooker course to teach people the basics and more advanced techniques of snooker.

As most people in sport are aware, snooker is a huge event over the in the far east such as places like China for example.

I have noticed that NOONE has ever done it before online and for that reason i am concerned....

Here are my questions:

1 - Is not having it done before a bad thing?
2 - what is your personal opinion about creating this course?
3 - Would you purchase it if it was the right quality and price?
4 - what would be the best way to market in China? (I will market here to but i know roughly how to do that)

Thanks guys

Steve

Yeah, the fact normally is that if it has not been done already then theres most likely as reason for it. As for profitability there are some adwords ads showing up for the root keyword snooker however none of these are for training courses, my advice before spending ages on this would to be to create a quick video of a trick shot and tutorial in exchange for their name and email, drive traffic and build a small subscriber list, then ask them the question you are asking us now,

    Hope that helps,

    Danny

      Hi Steve,

I use to watch snooker championships on TV, but I'm not a talented player. Some thoughts:

To #1: perform a search on SERPs to know how many people search what you intend to produce, how much is a demand for similar product. Wisit the webpages of your possible competitions. Someone may have already made a similar product, but you may don't know about it.

To #2: I don't know, how much money would be in this, but I know, many people are watching these sport events. I can just repeat myself, look after. A businessman research first the demand always, then he makes a product that meet that demand.

To #3: Particularly I wont purchase such product, but I can imagine that others will - in case of quality and proper price. You know, every sale is based on supply and demand. So, research, research, research...

To #4: There are chinese warriors here, I only can suggest you, to ask them. Probaly they know the chances of the market better than I do. But I suggest you, localize the demand for your product first, and then ask them about possibilities.

There are valid points in Danny's post, too.

      Many successes,

      Sandor

    Hi Steve,

If I were you, I would create a product of your own or look to see if anyone else has done it.

I went to Clickbank and found some people doing this already:

    https://www.clickbank.com/mkplSearch...s=play+snooker

You should create your own product.

Its just i also feel that with better marketing and determination this will be able to succeed. I think it will be a challenge but something that i reckon with the right marketing could be a success

Why do you say that? There are millions of web pages about snooker - and loads of youtube videos. There are various plays outlined in the videos and a couple site offering dvd instruction series. What is it that no one has done - do you mean a professional course is not available?

A Youtube version of lessons by an expert could be a great idea and it's a growing niche online rather than a fad.

It's not a term with high search volume but trends has been up in recent years so may be a good time to do what you are planning.

You pro status gives an advantage - but have no idea about marketing to China. I don't know what the current situation there is about internet access outside the country as it has changed here and there. If there is text involved in the lessons, you'll need professional translations - but that could be added later if you see the market is there.

How to make income from it is the big question. This isn't a niche where you can write a quick ebook and wait for sales.

You need to establish yourself as THE online expert - offer loads of youtube videos that lead to your site, perhaps your mailing list, your physical dvd series ...or....

Spend time analyzing carefully what snooker players are looking for and what is now offered to them. The big benefit I see in this niche isn't big money or fast money - but evergreen products. You have the "expert qualification" as a pro and this is a niche where interest may not be huge but it has gone on for many years and won't do anything online except grow.

Do your homework and lay out a careful plan for how you will monetize and how you will position yourself. Then follow it. Videos will have to be a huge part of the plan as this is a "show me" topic. Just guessing, but I'd think you need an approach that includes text and video tutorials, a site that sells (and reviews) snooker equipment (affiliate sales). You are also in a position to offer instructional book at various skill levels.

Good luck. I think it's a great idea but settle in for the long haul. If you do it right it could bring income for a long time to come.

Additional thought: You could have a section on the website for tournaments and events revolving around the game which would be a great way to add new content. You could announce events, explain the play and analyze the event afterward.

It can be a good idea.

Create the course and list it on Clickbank. Offer a free report or video series to capture leads and build a laist. Use social marketing, video marketing and, if you can, also PPC to promote your site. It can be also interesting to contact webmasters who own sites about snooke and invite them to be your affiliates or simply buy ad spaces from them (media buys). You can start generating sales quickly and affiliates will start promoting your product when it gets good exposure.
