New Member - Intro and Question

Hello Warriors,

I am a new here and wanted to introduce myself. I am 26 and last year completed my Master's degree. During the last 3-4 years, I have realized that I am highly entrepreneurial and prefer independence, innovation, learning and growth over working 9-5 for someone else.

The NEED for stability and security always stopped me from making difficult decisions in the past. I always thought that I will work full-time and then I will TRY to pursue entrepreneurship part-time. But over time I realized that it was really difficult to commit while working full-time. However, last year, I made some really tough decisions (anyone who has made similar decision knows EXACTLY what I am talking about).

Last year I quit my job and took another very low paying job which basically allows me to pay my rent and survive......but allows me to have all the time and freedom to learn, and pursue my entrepreneurship dream. I have COMMITTED myself 100% to entrepreneurship.

Although I am new to the internet entrepreneurship/marketing, I am learning quickly and finding it more interesting everyday. I have strong personal and business ethics and want to add value in the lives of other people through my entrepreneurial endeavors (online/offline).

I do have a question for senior members of this site: I see that there is SO MUCH information on this site, how do I best go about navigating and finding the information that is relevant to the level I am at right now. I wonder if any senior members like to mentor new members.

Also, is it worth it to become a paid member/get access to the WAR ROOM?

I would appreciate any helpful suggestions.

Thanks.

    BizMastery,

I strongly recommend joining the War Room. I would use all of the free resources there to learn and explore. This will take quite a while. :-) Once you find an area (business model as Kevin wrote) that interests you, I would start reviewing the WSOs in your area of interest.

    All the Best,

    Rich

First thing, take a general overall look. Before you start looking at individual tactics, get a good understanding of the main online business models and decide which one suits you best.

Knowing the basics can be a great foundation for different ideas. Be familiar with terms so that when researching, you can have a better understanding and application.

You are right in that there is a lot of information not only here but on the web in general.

One thing I would recommend is to find some one you can follow and stick with them. So many people get pulled here and there by this person and that person that before you know it you are lost and confused. Any body that is truly successful has had a mentor that has guided them along the way. They know which path worked and if you follow it then you have a good chance that it will work for you too.

If it looks too good to be true then it probably is. The instant riches push button software systems have taken over the IM niche and it is really easy to get sucked into their marketing. Most of it is a bunch of ......

    Lastly congratulations !!

PS don't forget to take MASSIVE ACTION. Nothing will happen if you don't do anything that is guaranteed.

You have taken a similar path to many who succeeded. I dropped out of college to pursue my business.

My advice would be to focus on finding a way to create a service or product that fills an existing market need/want and learn skills as needed to drive sales.

Nothing happens until you have a customer.

  • Just don't spend ALL your time reading and learning. Go ahead and start applying what you learn early on. Making mistakes is often when you learn the most.

  • I would definitely join the War Room. There is some really great stuff to be had in there.

Once you have a basic idea of the area that you want to focus on it I think it is worth finding a mentor who really knows their stuff in that area. This will probably cost you but will save you lots of wasted hours and money in the long term.
