I get huge traffic from stumbleupon. But digg..

I found, when i submit an attractive useful post to stumbleupon, it sends huge traffic. But for digg, i don't get even a single traffic. So what's big factor between digg an stumbleupon for sending traffic?

I've never been to Stumbleupon, but I've been to Digg and have an account
    there.

Have you tried looking at the demographics for the two sites using a site such
    as Quantcast?

My guess is Digg may have a more serious audience - but that is an impression
based on things I've read about Stumbleupon. I could be wrong.

But I am curious... is your Stumbleupon traffic targeted well? Do they give you
your most desired response at your site?

    Thanks.

In order to get traffic from Digg you will need to get votes in order to move up for people to be able to see your post. When you do a search on Digg what page does it come up on?

I have stopped using Digg and now use Reddit. It is way more popular for my interests.

In my experience it depends a lot on what you're promoting but in either case you needs those votes early on in order to move up the rankings

Digg is just a game. You need to socialize, make contacts, 'I'll dig yours if you dig mine' and that sort of stuff which just rubs me wrong. I did submit a lot to them and got maybe one visitor per submission. Part of that is because my pages are reading, and I think a lot of them can't do that. They up vote goofy pics and videos.

Stumble has sent 10s of thousands to what I think are very good quality pages. It might be a bit pointless. All that traffic hasn't made enough in 'adcents' to pay for the domain registration for the site they like.

I've never had any luck with Digg. No one ever digs my stuff. Stumbleupon brings good traffic when I remember to use it. However, I've never made a sale or found a client from Stumbleupon traffic.

Yep. StumbleUpon is a winner. Especially if you use Su.pr - Drive More Traffic with Your Short URLs! I just submitted a link there (along with a small description) and it went out to all my Twitter accounts and got Stumbled - 228 times! That would cost me $10 if I used their advertising.

What StumbleUpon wants is interesting content others will stumble. Give them that, and they'll give you visits to your website.

I have used su.pr in the past and it has done me well. 200+ visitors in a mere few hours. Did they engage or convert? Not necessarily. This can be for numerous reasons but there is an opportunity drive traffic from Stumble Upon.

According to my experience with Digg, you only get
exposure when you're on the homepage of the site.

They both haven't worked well for me yet. But, StumbleUpon sends at least one traffic per submission.
