How do you promote a miniblog?

Any ideas about how to get people to visit your miniblog other then SEO?

Here are the details:
-Micro niche (ideas for creating membership site)
-1 page blog
-No ads at the moment (so the traffic source must be completely free)
-I don't want to trade links

My idea is to create a lot of these (linkbait)miniblogs to create backlinks to my other sites.

    Joining forums related to your niche. Be a usefull member and add link to your signature - maybe that's obvious and many people don't see huge increase in traffic - but it's really good for the very beggining.

      Thanks for the quick reply

      I'm already registered at many forums in my niche. Posting 50 links in my signature is probably not a good idea. You do have a good point about being more active in providing useful info/content on forums (I read a lot on forums but writing comes a bit harder for me because English in not my native language)

      My ideas:

      -Getting the miniblogs listed in directories. However, I think it will be hard to get the miniblogs listed in directorys, has anyone here had some success with this?
      -Posting 1 minute videos with a url display at the end online. (creating short videos is not very hard for me to do)

    Build your reputation in the forums and people will certainly click on your sig link.

    I want the backlinks mainly for the traffic from those links. I don't like to depend on google to send me traffic.

    If i get traffic from google thats ok but i don't want to build links with:

    -Useless content
    -Profiles on forums i never actually use
    -Duplicate content from others
    -Trading links
    -And other spammy techniques

    Just to build the pagerank. If i get kicked/google slapped/banned or whatever its called all the work was useless. Long term reliable results with quality content is what i want to accomplish.

    What about software? Is there a affordable tool that can promote miniblogs?
