Got laid off at work, need cheap internet marketing ideas!

Hey guys,

Well on Friday I was laid off from my day job. It was
keeping me afloat, but now I am looking for another
job quick here, and have about a thousand in savings.

Work is in short supply here where I live. I need tips
on how I could better market my self defense site. I
use yahoo search marketing, submityourarticle, and
organic seo techniques.

I get around 1200 visitors a month, have a list of 7000
have customers, and need some advice on marketing
ideas that could kick start my traffic, help me generate
leads and more sales..

I'm hoping you can help and I wish all of you a very

    Hey there,

    Sorry to hear about your situation.

    1. Save your $1000 for food and bills
    2. Forget getting traffic, you've already GOT it
    3. Send a promo for a product that your list might be interested in
    4. If promo fails, ASK your list what they are interested in buying
    5. Tell them you'll discount their purchase (if you can) as a Christmas gift
    6. Use the profits to create your own stream of traffic
    7. Monetize your site
    8. Use the profit to create your own product/service (membership would be ideal here)
    9. Spend some of your profits on a vacation
    10. Reinvest the rest of your profits into building new assets/traffic

    Or alternatively, determine what your strengths are and then offer a service via a WSO to raise capital for your business plan above (or whatever plan you have).

    That's just an idea, there are millions of other ways to get money online...but that would be the most beneficial long term.

    Think what problems you have been in and how you solved them and see if there is a market for that information ...

    Maybe you once had growths on your back and because you spent years testing and researching you found out the cure ... if after searching the internet for "growths on back cure" there is a good number of people searching look at turning the potential gold inside your brain into a report that you can sell ... I am being semi serious here but I think you get the point yes?

    Also, when you go to bed tonight write down the time you went to bed. Then tomorrow write down the time you get up ... e.g. say you went to bed at 23:00 and got up at 07:00 that would be 8 hours in your bed ... Write that down, then always sleep 2 hours less every night until you have earned the right to sleep for 8 hours. Those extra 2 hours will allow you more time to both work and plan your work ... and make moulah.

    Promoting to you current list is well and good and continue growing that asset but quick money usually isn't possible. You need money now... $1000 is not much to live on even if you follow a minimal budget.

    You need some quick cash, offer your services, submit articles, write articles, do forum posts any other task you might be able to do.

    Possibly sell some links on your site. Anything that can give you a quick cash infusion.

      Another option that no one has yet mentioned... Find yourself another job.

      You don't have a lot of funds backing you up, and it doesn't take much to completely deplete them... believe me on that one! You are probably going to be much better off getting a job for now and then working on your IM business on the side.

      The downside is that you'll have less time for IM now, but later when you can afford to quit your job, you can devote all your time to your business.

    You should promote to your list. The theory is a dollar per person per month. You have a 7000 person list. You should be able to make an income from that.

    How about creating a self defense course? Ebook or video? See if your list would be interested.

    Or find other related products and promote to your list.

    Thanks guys.

    I have a list of products I've written and that are public domain I sell too.
    Honestly wouldn't know how to make a $1 per subscriber on my list a month
    75% of them are finished the 6 months of email i put into autoresponder, over
    50 custom written articles on self defense

    I'm going to go create a free christmas report right now I can use to promote
    one of my products within. I have my rent for january covered so I'm ok. I know
    giving away free pdf's with ads for a product work better at times then straight
    sales pitches..

    Would love to hear more ideas from you all!

    actually there are many ideas on how you can build up a traffic and monetize that.. one thing there is social networking, such as twitter, squidu, hubpages, article submission, directory submission, article writing,blogging, forum... all you need here is your time!
