Just made my first Amazon sale !!

I've been following a simple plan for a few months.

Setup a niche site.
Get traffic.
Get amazon affiliate links on there.
Make some money.

To be honest, I got a bit disheartened after months of link building, writing articles and all that stuff...

Then yesterday, while I was surfing around, I thought i'd take a look at my amazon affiliate sales an wooooooooooooooooooooooooopppp....

someone had bought a $138 guitar loop pedal and I made $6 !!

I know it's not going to set the world on fire. Yet. But I am just so glad it works at last.

Thanks for letting me share.

I documented the process here, for anyone that is interested:

That's a great point. I need to write a guide to "How to choose the best guitar loop pedal for you" or something like that.

          Exactly,
and put it into sidebox of your blog. Possibly look on links in my sig for some inspiration.

          Good luck

Excellent! The feeling is addictive. Have you tried publishing a product on Kindle? I have had some success doing that too and it is easy to do if you have your own product.

    Either way… way to go!

      Hey Gregg

I have never tried producing Kindle content.

I'm currently writing a guide to getting offline clients through seminars. So that may work as a kindle book.

The commission structure isn't the greatest (35% or 70% if your product is $9.99 or under) but it is another revenue avenue and it doesn't seem to take away from what you are selling outside of Amazon.

Congrats on your Amazon sale! I had the same feeling when I started trying to sell Amazon products, slow go, no traffic, no sales; this had to be a bad idea. But, you just keep doing the basics, and it starts to come.

Finally, some gratification for all that time and seemingly wasted efforts.

Now I'm continuing to build more Amazon sites, knowing that it takes time, but the results will come.

Cool. This seems to be the trend with the amazon sales. I'll keep plugging away.

      Congratulations buddy.

I was in a similar situation in that my first amazon sale came through when I was really starting to get down after all the hard work I'd put in hadn't paid off.

The first sale is the hardest you'll ever have to work for. After mine the sales kept rolling in.

Congratulations, great job! I wish I could be an amazon affiliate but they recently passed a law in Chicago saying we're stealing too many consumers from Mom and Pop stores so we can't promote in Chicago anymore.

At least there are other methods to make money online, anyway great job bro and hopefully you'll make some more sales in the future. Even if it is $6 you can still scale your success to much more. Keep up the good work buddy.

Congrats on the same buddy. I remember having that same feeling when I made my first sale. I think it was a GoDaddy sale and commission was 7.19.

Making that sale just helps to reassure that internet marketing works.

I'm not quite a fan of Amazon Associates though. A 4% commission doesn't really cut it for me.

    What do you all think?

A big time congratulations go out to you!

The real secret behind the giant Amazon success stories boils down to having a nice portfolio of different Amazon sites. If you can do that and focus on ranking your sites by their category/product keywords, you will be on your way.

Don't be surprised if 30-50% of your sales are also unrelated as you do get the advantage of the 24-hour cookie which is really sweet!

    So keep the momentum going!
