Hi everyone!

I've been lurking for awhile now, and finally decided that it was time I stepped up and introduced myself.

I'm a newbie in the sense that, though I've tried lots of things, I haven't had any success yet. But I've decided that 2009 is going to be my year to shine! I've purchased a few of the WSOs here (all relating to the same technique) and am determined to make it work.

I'm a 22-year veteran of public school teaching (I teach Biology to sophomores) and am pretty burned out. But I make a good salary at this point and need to replace it before I can think of quitting. My son is in college and we don't get much financial aid, so end up footing most of the bill ourselves.

I'm so impressed with the generosity and willingness to help on this forum. I'm afraid I won't have much to offer of concrete help for awhile, but I'm a great cheerleader!

So, just wanted to say "hi" and wish everyone a great week.

Debbie

      Hey Debbie,

Welcome to the forum. While I'm not a complete newbie, I am far from an IM expert... But I can't resist saying one thing...

I'm currently (re)reading Jack Canfield's the Success Principles, a great inspirational book. Anyway, one thing he says that stuck out in my mind as especially applying to newbies is no matter how much you think you don't know, the only way you're ever going to succeed is just jumping in and trying it. Expect to fail at first, and later learn from your mistakes and do it better next time, to quote from the book, "mistakes are just opportunities for learning something new".

Best of luck, now get out there and go for it!

    Debbie,

Welcome aboard. I just wanted to say something that had an impact on me when I get "down" or disappointed in my efforts with internet marketing. My success has been up and down and mild at best BUT...

Running an online business is by far the best option one can get involved with when trying to replace an income. The internet provides things that NOTHING else can do for sure. Even though you may not see results right away, you are building YOUR business. No other "job" can provide the possibilities that internet marketing can.

Stay focused and be persistent. Being here and talking to others is a good move in the right direction but you need to be proactive and just "do it". You will learn best by your own mistakes and experiences. Don't do things blindly of course but just do it!

I wish you the best and if I can help in any way, please PM me.

    Sincerely,

    Craig Raphael

  • Welcome Debbie! Wow, 22 years teaching biology. Biology was my second worst subject in school behind chemistry. I can imagine 22 years of teaching biology to sophomores might get a little tiring. With your extensive teaching record perhaps you should consider creating information products, which essentially teach people how to do things and are also very profitable. I think your teaching background will ultimately be extremely advantageous in building your business online. ;-)

      Hi Debbie!
Like you, I am also new here. I have been lurking a bit and have found this forum to be a friendly bunch of folks who are very willing to help out. I'm anxious to get involved here and contribute my share to the extent of my knowledge. It's a great way to give back, especially when there is so much to learn from so many here.

I am also like you in that I worked for a number of years in an industry (medical field) where someone told me what I was worth every day. That is one of the many reasons I love IM. I get to decide what I am worth and if I am willing to take action and learn as I go, the sky is the limit.

Happy Holidays to you Debbie and to everyone else on the forum. I look forward to interacting with all of you.

Thanks, all, for the very warm welcome!

Yes, I've wondered if somehow I could turn my teaching career into some kind of online career. But the only thing I could write an info product about would be biology ... ugh! I am pretty good at Powerpoint - all of my curriculum units have been turned into PP presentations. I also create notesheets to go with them, with diagrams, online activities, etc. But I'm not sure how to go about transferring that knowledge into something that anyone else would want to buy.

I'm going to give it some more thought.

    Again, thanks.

      Welcome!

I am sure you could do more than that. I am sure in the 22 years of teaching you have you could provide lots of insight into teaching methods.

You could actually design something geared for parents who homeschool, I would imagine.

      Glad to have you here.

        Hi Debbie,

Don't underestimate the skills you already have after those 22 years - you know how to research something new, summarise it and pass it on to someone else (who mightn't have the time or the skills to fugure it out themselves) in an easy to understand way - that's gold dust right there!

Get brainstorming - everything and anything you can write about or would like to learn about and be happy passing it on...

        Best of luck,

        Steve

    Hi Debbie,

It's nice to meet you. Your teaching skills will go a long way in internet marketing. Let's see, you could coach others, teach a technique on youtube, create your own video programs, etc. The opportunities for a veteran teacher are endless.

See what others are doing to promote their teaching skills on the Warrior Special Offer forum. You'll be sure to get lots of ideas from there.

Welcome Debbie. Good to have you with us. I've been online to 10 years and ivory invented myself more times than I've had hot dinners. I teach, I do self-help, I do online marketing, I run several websites successfully but I have to admit we're all newbies in one way or another. Be glad to help out however I can.

Welcome to all the newcomers to the WF.

    Debbie (tranquility),

    Hello everyone,

I am new to this sight. I was referred here by the product run down of process @ home website. I do believe that some of the information I have gathered here will greatly benefit me in 2009. Thought I am very disappointed in the website and the program overall. There is some rather good things that have come from it. I truly believe that my determination will help me succeed if I can find something that isn't a ripoff.

    To success,

    Stephen

Just wanted to thank all the others that have welcomed me. And you've given me some things to think about as to how to utilize my teaching skills and experience and translate them into an online business.

I have 2 niche websites (totally written by me) but I'd also like to get into niche blogging as well. I've got a ton of interests, and just enough knowledge about all of them to be dangerous!! So it's a matter of finding a profitable niche that I'm also passionate enough about to blog about.

I'm thinking about checking out Amy Bass's stuff - I hear it's pretty good.

    Thanks again, all.
