What would you want from a FREE Video Course?

Hi guys,

I'm putting the finishing touches on a video course which reveals how I make a living online. It is totally free, but I do want to make sure it's the best course I can possibly make - price or no price.

Right now it runs about 2 hours in length, contains 12 videos and all videos have comment sections underneath so people can ask any questions they may have.

So, my question is:

If you were going to watch a free video course, what would you want it to contain?

Thanks!

I agree. pdf bullet points of each video....and try and make each video stand alone, so you don't have to watch 1, 2 etc to see the one you want to watch i.e. 8.

Thanks for the reply. Already have them stand-alone so it's good to see your suggestion.

That would be tough, since some of the points are quite technical. I can see that I could do it for some of the videos though.

I like PDFs as I can go straight to a particular page rather than fast fowarding through a video.

I totally understand why a PDF transcript of the videos would be better, but honestly for a free video series it wouldn't bother me at all if there wasn't any.

I would just go through the videos very quickly at first (fast-forwarding a lot) just to have an idea of what exactly it is that you're offering. Checking whether you are talking about anything I don't already know and worth listening to or not.

I'm surprised that more people don't like to sit down at times, relax and watch a long marketing video series.

        I personally love it...but maybe I'm strange

not strange at all - I love watching marketing videos as well. What's really strange is that I often enjoy watching those late night paid TV advertising spots. I no longer have a TV (I'm living in Hungary so I wouldn't understand the programing anyway) but when I was living in the US, I used to love watching pitchmen (i.e. the late Billy Mays) sell things on late night TV. It was entertaining, seductive and so compelling / persuasive in some cases. Great stuff and I think a lot can be learned from viewing these types of things.

You're a chill guy Viper so I'll share with you what's
    worked in my experience:

Number #1: Some will tell you they prefer one over
the other, but in reality a LARGE majority want both
if given the THIRD option. Why?

It's simple. The more sense you engage, they better
    perceived its value.

Number #2: I too, discovered it's easier to digest a
video if broken up into 3 - 5 minute chunks. At most
10 minutes (less you're skilled in holding attention for
    long periods of time).

Number #3: Why are you giving away your hardwork
    -- for free?

Do you think your readers will respect or appreciate
you more if it was? Because...

I can tell you from experience they "will not".

They might TELL you they do, but psychologically it
    could backfire.

I say this out of respect and that even I read some
of your work. You're awesome. In fact, you inspired
    me...

there's no way, knowing what I know now -- know-
ing what YOU know, I'd give it away for free. If not
for yourself, than for your readers "own good".

Either way, I think you'll do fine.

No video course is complete without a fight scene.

ditto that. Live in the country on tethered Droid Internet connection so don't watch videos. Even when I had broadband, videos, except really funny videos, bored me.
