Ive got a couple of questions about Article directory submission.

1. When submitting to Ezine, it sometimes says your article contains invalid characters then when i click "Correct Now" it then just makes some big white gaps in the text.

What is going on? I didn't even see any invalid characters in the text.

2. When submitting to GoArticles, how do you make a word bold and underlined?

Ive tried the code <ul><b>text here</b></ul> but it didn't make the word underlined. All it did was make the word bold and make the text indent towards the right.

Thanks,

Ezine doesn't allow you to put formatting in the title? Are you trying to use the <b> tags for ezine too? I think it's in the submission guidelines, but I'm not positive. What's the exact title you are trying to submit?

It doesn't display the error for the title, it displays it for the article body itself.

Im not using <b> tags on Ezine because they have got a WYSIWYG editor.

    Here are your answers:

    1. If your articles contain too many formatting tags, like bold, italic, quotation, underline, '&' and different bullet points; they become a problem. You might have the WYSIWYG editor turned off when you submit them. Try to turn it on, put relevant tags instead. It will be okay.

Otherwise use the 'source' tab in the submission panel. Most people try to copy their works from word processor and paste it into the submission box. The system in Ezine does not accept those formatting readily. So, it asks to remove 'invalid' characters.

And, it simply does not reduce or extend gaps - it replaces those tags with peculiar wordings etc. If you simply cannot help fixing them all, then leave it to their editors - they are sitting idle there, let them do it for you.

    2. What i know is, in GoArticles you cannot do it. Like any other article directory, content on GA are different in terms of republishing platform - that is not necessary. They usually remove and wipe out everything.

    I hope this helps. Thanks.

      ^^^^^ This.

      It's usually the answer, anyway.

It sounds to me that you've been pasting in content from a word-processor, which contains all sorts of concealed formatting codes which are not designed to go on the internet.

One easy way to resolve that, if that is what's been happening, is simply to copy your text in the normal way, but then open "Notepad" and quickly copy/paste your text in and out of Notepad before pasting it into EZA's text-box. It takes only a second to do, and this will strip out out the concealed codes which typically cause these problems.
