Kind of a broad question... As domaining has many levels...

Lets start with the basics... Have you picked a niche?

Typically when buying domains for niche sites I will look for exact keyword match domains first (regardless of tld).

Please provide more info so I may be able to answer more in depth...

its like... my writers for any niche... and people love my work on various marketplaces... now i am looking forward to basically a 20week plan.... 20 niches... matter is created in the 1st week.. and is posted over a period of 15weeks... and then i plan to flip the domain... what next?

With the actual domain, keyword relevance is the primary consideration.

As to where to flip the domains, google is your friend. (Just ask and I'tll answer)

Also will the content you are posting be already monetized via adsense or x amount of affiliate sales.

Your prospective buyers will be tough on assessing the current and long term value.

I JUST wrote an article for a client about this.... the big takeaways are don't use dashes or numbers, go with a .com when you can, don't make it long (unless you are trying to create a micro-niche-long tail keyword site), make it relevant to your niche, don't use misspellings or other SEO "tricks". Look at auctions - you can often find gems there.

choose a name related to your niche that is less then 13 characters. A keyword domain isnt really required unless you really will work hard on SEO or want to create a review blog.

That's completely wrong. Did you know that actually you're saying 10?
Yes,10. The TLD extension it's included in your domain.
There's nothing wrong using a 23 characters long domain.
Last but not least, Google doesn't care at all.

1) Open Google Keyword Tool- Login (very important now!)

2) Add a seed keyword (s!)...

3) Sort results only showing 1,000 local searches or higher

4) Copy and paste list (text file) into GoDaddy "Bulk Domain Register" area- Make sure to tick ".com", ".net" and ".org"

5) Look at the domains that are still available and compare them to searches back on Google Keyword Tool.

6) Put keywords with potential into Google and check with a free plugin (SEOTools plugin, SEOQuake, etc)
-Make sure there are a few PR-0's or N/A's
-Make sure there are lots of Adwords Ads on the page
-Make sure keyword makes sense as something people would use to
to ultimately purchase something, or click an ad to get more info

7) Buy good domains that pass #6.

8) Begin making site!

Firstly, install the SEO Quake plugin on Firefox or Chrome and just do a search in Google. You'll see a bunch of numbers underneath each search result from now on...

i had pretty much figured out... but.. the issue lies.... my writers have written content for almost all the niches... the thing lies... how to figure out the right one...

... cant somebody tell me?... this is the niche... select this... this will make you some money.... article marketing, adsense, sales, and flip.... everything... these are the niches...

( why cant it be that easy...

I think you are making this hard on yourself.

1. Determine keywords

2. For the domain, if you are going to flip then a dot com will be more impressive to the buyer on the back end, but other extensions are just as rankable.

3. Pretend YOU are the person searching the internet looking for a solution. See which sites are presently on page one and see how they are monetizing their sites. It will likely be a good indication of which ways you should approach.

You need to go to a place like Flippa and see what niches are selling. We can't tell you what is guaranteed to sell and make money. You need to do your own research and come to your own conclusions.

It also sounds like you are terribly afraid of some failure. Let it go! Failing and doing it quickly will push you closer to getting it all right much quicker.

What I've found that there is no hard and fast rule really.
While one person will say only pick .com, others will say that they've done very well with .org and .net and even .info.
While one will say don't use dashes, another will say well I've made millions with dashes.
I say pick whatever is available and makes sense, and if you spend more than an hour trying to pick one, then you are over-thinking it.

I cannot stress enough that keyword rich domains are everything in the search engines.

Let me clarify that obviously there is more to it, and its definitely a "job" to rank sites highly, but the domain is the start man...

I have a knack for finding good domain names. Once you establish your niche and keyword, try anything and everything.

video games your keyword?

(dont know if these are available or not)

You could try:

myvideogames.com

videogamesgroup.com

videogamesmagic.com

Just get that damn keyword in the domain somehow!!! This cannot be overlooked.

So thats my advice....find a way. No secrets.
