Let's Make The Best Free Internet Marketing Wiki Together
Note: This is a volunteer project. Please read no further if you're hoping to gain anything in return for your service.
Wikipedia is a great site for many different projects, however I believe it's lacking real expert input within the Internet marketing categories. Who are the real leading Internet marketing experts in the world? Well, they're you and me, the users right here on the warrior forum who perform marketing as part of our daily business.
I believe we could create an Internet marketing specific wiki which would not only rival, but greatly surpass the level of information available on Wikipedia.
The layout and focus of the wiki wouldn't be so much in encyclopedic format as it would be a more in-depth informational wiki whereby people can gain a thorough, pragmatic understanding of marketing. It wouldn't be a "how to" guide or tutorial either. It would be backed with references where appropriate, however the main focus will be on expanding Internet marketing awareness within the general community.
If you've had any experience editing on Wikipedia, you'll realize the bureaucratic nature of its model prevents new content and ideas from being spread in a timely manner. With our Wiki, we'd all be working together as a team to deliver the most relevant, up to date information within Internet marketing that is practical and useful to its readers.

The style of writing for the entire Wiki would be similar to that. Informative, helpful, and easy to understand for any casual reader.
Regarding that particular article, I've already received e-mails from three university professors who stated they find the resource invaluable and will be using it in their real life class presentations. What a great way to spread Internet marketing information to the public!
I want to expand this Wiki further, and cover all topics within Internet marketing. I want to make it the leading Internet marketing wiki on the Internet, containing even more in-depth and helpful categories than Wikipedia.
The wiki will have editorial guidelines which all editors can follow, however since we'll all be working on the project together, we can edit these guidelines and improvise on them. Our ultimate goal will be to create a wiki where the level of quality is uniform within all its articles, and where universities and professionals alike will be referencing the wiki as a valuable resource to their students, customers, and employees.
I'm not seeking to gain anything of monetary value from this wiki, rather I'm looking for people to help me create this ideal Internet marketing resource, freely available, for all the world to access. Anything anyone should ever want to know about Internet marketing should eventually be made available on the wiki with well researched, referenced and interesting articles.
The sought of volunteers I'm looking for are those who know a lot about specific subjects within Internet marketing, have a tertiary education, know how to write fluent English with an academic tone, and are willing to devote their free time to turning this vision into a reality.
All of us volunteers will be keeping in contact with each other through a forum, which I hope we can use to network with each other and expand upon more ideas of offering quality, free marketing training to the world, in addition to the wiki.
Instead of donating 10% of our money to charity, let's donate our knowledge to the world through this freely available resource.
Anyone interested in applying to become a volunteer editor with the Heron Academy Wiki may apply directly to me via PM. Please submit a brief CV including any writing experience, or some academic writing samples, along with any topics you may have a particular expertise in.
This will be not be an instant review process. I want to ensure that anyone volunteering for this project is able to help produce only the highest standard of editorial writing related to Internet marketing, or business and marketing in general.
Remember, the quality we should be aiming for is one that will not only parallel, but surpass the quality offered at Wikipedia. Also, by restricting editing to only those who pass the editorial review process, we will ensure that edits are only made by qualified editors, further enhancing the potential authority of our resources.
All content submitted on the Wiki will be available under the Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Unported license, provided people give credit to the Wiki. This means everyone can make use of the articles we release without ever needing to pay a dime.
I strongly encourage anyone interested in donating their knowledge and time to help expand public awareness of Internet marketing through the wiki, to please consider applying to become a volunteer editor.
At the moment it's just me, and I can't do this alone.
As a minor bonus, all volunteer editors will of course be given exclusive access to any products or services I've released or ever will release in the future. I have a profound respect for those who volunteer or donate, and I hope we can all form a team of like minded individuals wishing to spread free marketing knowledge worldwide.
A little about my editing and volunteer experience and what I intend to bring to the Wiki -
I've worked on many marketing related Wikipedia articles in the past, and have realised the strengths and weaknesses of Wikipedia as an overall project. I've subsequently left editing Wikipedia with the mindset of creating a less bureaucratic Wiki focused entirely upon Internet marketing that is more focused on helping readers better understand topics as opposed to strictly following encyclopedic editorial standards.
I've worked as a DMOZ Editor since 2009 and have a good understanding of the sorts of websites and references that would be useful to this Wiki.
I've helped manage and run several of my own volunteer mastermind groups, and believe I'd be able to bring these management skills to co-ordinating the overall expansion of the Wiki.
