When Is The Best Time For My Pop-up To Appear

INTERNET MARKETING

I need a bit of help with my site's pop up timing. At the moment it pops up after 3 seconds while on the site. However i dont think that its performing as well as it should, for i am only geting 2 subscribers per-day and my site's unique visits averages about 210 per-day.

What should i do to increase performance base on your experience with using pop-ups.

Please take a look at it. It's in my signature also please let me know if you think it looks appealing to the eye.

For me it pops up straight away (probably because it takes a few seconds to load the site from where I am).

On my site, I set the popup (technically a popunder) to appear 5 seconds if the user has clicked on another article in my site. The reason for this is twofold.

1. I don't want to scare off/annoy my visitors by presenting them with an optin before they've had a chance to read anything.

2. If a person clicks on another link in your site, it generally means you have their interest, so any optin is potentially going to have a higher chance of working.

Having said all that, why not experiment and try another setting for a week to see if it makes any difference to your optin rates.

There's certainly thousands to choose from.

On my main marketing site (in my sig), I use Digi List Builder by Andy Fletcher.
