Two letter .biz domains?

My friends and I have been having an argument over how valuable some domain extensions are. Please I would like to know if two letter or three letter .biz domain names are valuable?

Can one make money selling them?

Like for example..... xx.biz or xxx.biz

Your opinions about this will be appreciated.

    A .biz domain can only be of worth to you if you're making a website for an offline business of yours. But even in that case, it's less valuable than .com and .org even.

    In other cases, .biz looks spammy, if you know what I mean.

    They're only worth what someone will pay.

    They have zero intrinsic interest.

    Remember also - you don't actually own them, you're just renting them from the domain controllers - if you stop paying - they take them back. So you can't actually sell them, you can just sell the rental on them that you have reserved.

    You can have the best looking domain in the world but if no-one wants to buy it - it has no value.

    Rather than thinking about flipping or domain squatting - spend your time building a business that has value that everyone will want.

    Hey! I may suggestion if your marketing is going well, then there are not that much of effect from domain name, yes of it's fine and biz related word also there. By the way even .com and .org always fine.

      It's not possible to register two-letter .biz domains, now. For .info and .biz domains, the minimum is three letters.

      One may (in theory) register two-letter .com, .org and .net domain-names, but in reality they're all taken.

      (For .co.uk domains, interestingly, one can't register two-letter names, but one can register two-character domains such as k9.co.uk or 77.co.uk).

      I hear you and don't disagree in general, Andy, but to be fair, there are members here who make their full-time livings flipping domain-names. It's a "known and viable business model", albeit that how easy it is to get into it now is a different matter. Just saying ...

        No doubt about it - but the fact that there's no actual inherent value in them means you need to know how to target and communicate with niche markets effectively in order to stand a chance. That's not a good place to start for most people getting into IM and it's definitely not an easy model to get into as you're up against people with powerful research and domain management tools.

        It's one of those things like buying expiring domains - seems simple on the face of it, but the reality is it's a business you need to work just as hard as any other if you want long term viability.

    I think it has high value , xx.biz, or xxx.biz, but something that I really tend to look at is more to the BUSINESS above the domain name.

    I think yahoo.com won't be like they're now if they don't have such a business like this.
