Default Please comment on my new website strategy

Okay I finally decided to start building my first adsense website, and I have 2 more to go before the baby gets here...hehe

Im gonna give a run down of my strategy and I would like everyone to comment and let me know if im doing it the right way. So here it goes

1) I have 21 keywords in total. Their monthly traffic estimates between 800-200,000 per month, and they have 10,000-60,000 competing web pages (im not sure if this is good or not)

2) I will create 1 article and 1 press release for each keyword, optimize them and submit them to the top 10 article directories.

3) I will optimize my website for the main keyword and make sure I have my kw in my meta tags.

4) I will create a site map and rss feed, and submit them.

5) Im going to use Social marker to submit my website to a few bookmarking sites (HIGH PR ONLY)

6) I'll be commenting on related blogs and forums daily, and also posting classifieds on craigslist and Kijiji.

7) I will update my website daily. Im also using an outside affiliate program and adsense to monetize my site.

Okay this is all I can think of so far. Am I doing something wrong or is there anything I left out? I would greatly appreciate your advice. If this website turns out good, i'll be building one every two weeks until I get tired I guess

Sounds like a good plan...I wouldn't add adsense until you are ranking though...if you add it too soon google will penalize your site in the SERPS. It is easier to get ranked and then add. That has been my experience anyway.

You mean until my website gets indexed??? Or until I get a top 1-3 page ranking???

Another thing you can do for each of your keywords is to create some web 2.0 type sites, Squidoo, Hubpages, Weebly, etc, and use them to link back to the appropriate pages on your site. Make sure you use the phrase you want that page to rank for in the link.

Until you get on the first page...that has been my experience. Google doesn't like ads..not even their own and until you build up authority, they are going to assume you may be an MFA.

Build up your authority and credibility first, then monetize.

You may find this post I did on Adsense Optimization helpful.

On your plan:

1. 21 keywords may be too much unless they're tightly coupled.

2. OK, but you'll need to do more link building than that unless you have an unusually low competition niche.

3. Good.

4. Good, except that you don't need to bother submitting your site to Google. Allow it to find it naturally through your links. Submitting a site tends to delay indexed and placement.

5. Submit to as many social bookmarking sites as you can. The more links, the better, unless you're talking 10000 overnight.

6. Commenting on dofollow blogs and forums is good as long as your comments and content are good so that you don't get marked as being spammy.

7a. There is no need to update daily. You only really need about 10 posts with occasional maintenance posts if you've done your link building right.

7b. Only use Adsense on the site, don't use any other type of monetization. If you want to use the affiliate program, create a separate site for that.

It's a decent plan to start with. Consider it done for now.

Take five-ten of those keywords - and start writing and get that site built. I add adsense in the beginning when I build the site and have no problem. Only exception is if I am submitting to directories in which case I add adsense later.

Updating twice a week is enough and can be less frequent later - and allows you to spread the content out a bit. That's if it's a website - if you are using a blog platform, do it more often at least to start with.

(She's speaking of submitting RSS and site map - good ideas).

That is exactly the wrong thing to do with an Adsense site Charles. Your advice is great for someone wanting to create a social blog where they can build a list and engage regular readers. For an Adsense site it is a sure path to low earnings, smart pricing and potentially banning as readers try to 'help you out' by clicking on your ads but not converting for advertisers.

A successful Adsense site is like a billboard or a magazine or TV ad, something someone briefly sees on their way to what they're looking for.

Nothing wrong with that, although:

3) METAS are overrated. They are only important for "outdated", smaller search engines and (I THINK) for google AdWords bot. Otherwise Google and any bigger search engine doesnt take metas into account anymore. This said, it does not HURT having good meta keywords.

You could add a few squidoo or blogger lenses, pointing back to your sites. Never hurts.

Otherwise...looking good!
