Without checking your adsense earnings. Checking adsense earnings is a big waste of time for me but cant stop myself. Probably check it 50 times a day. Wish it would only update daily like amazon and affiliates. Any tips on curing adsence income checking addiction.

    Hi Troybh,

I think it's very common "symptom" especially when we are fresh to the network and eager to know it's "real time" outcome.. I admit that I did it myself too.

To "cure it", suggest that you set some specific time for the checking and gradually reduce your checking till your desired frequency.

For example, for a start, instead of checking it 50 times a day, check only every hour (it reduces to maximum 24 times a day). Then gradually reduce it to say, every 2 hours, every 3 hours, half-a-day etc...

    Hope that the above helps!

    Cheers!

Ha! I love this post because it is spot on for me! I will say though that I don't check nearly as much as I used to. I think the reason is that I now have a better idea of my daily average across a few sites, so I don't check as much as I once did.

BUT, it sure is exciting to click and watch those numbers change, isn't it?!!!! LOL!

I just checked mine right before I read this thread actually and just found out my site went from page one #8 to page three #24. Was there an algorithm change today or is my 1 month old site doing the google dance?

I don't have an issue with Adsense earnings, my one Adsense site chugs along pretty regularly. I know what it earns a month at what times of the year... and it hasn't really changed much in the 3 or so years I have owned the site.

Clickbank is the same way now. I don't really check it but every now and again. But I used to check it all the time.

My vice now is email, though since I now take freelance work its a different story. Also check it for PLR sales... but the big difference is now I get my money instantly. No more waiting weeks.
