    Andy,

I think that will depend on your merchant provider. I use 1ShoppingCart right now with Paypal as my merchant account and I only pay the 1SC fee, paypal takes their cut before I get it.

If you added a merchant like Power Pay, they will separately charge you for their services.

Does powerpay take commission or just monthly. I really need to find a payment processor that doesnt take commission just charges monthly because my site takes a commission off sales on it and if payment processor take around 30cents per transaction then that's all my profit. Any suggestions?

I posted in an earlier thread and two people old me that they only charge monthly so I did contact them to ask and they told me "Thank you for taking the time to write in. My name is Mike and I will be assisting you today.

After reviewing your question, the shoppingcart only charges you 34$ a month, However you do need a credit card processor.* They charge monthly as well as they take a small fee per transaction.

If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to reply to this ticket as we are here to help you with your problem."

If 1st shopping cart isn't the credit car processor then what am I paying $34 a month for?

1shoppingcart is NOT a payment processor. It's a shopping cart. A shopping cart is software that interfaces with whatever payment processor you choose ie. Paypal or power pay (through authorize.net gateway). A payment processor is a merchant account + gateway. A third party processor is a middle man who essentially processes the transaction through their own merchant account for you ie. paypal is a third party processor, so is clikbank and 2chekout. Third party processors are more expensive to use... Sometimes 2-4x as expensive as a merchant account.

Pay pal charges 2.99% + .30 per transaction.

    Power pay is generally 2.39%

With power pay you need a gateway which is usually $20 a month + $.05 per transaction.

The card brands (visa mc Amex) usually tap a little more on... Expect to average 3-3.25% in fees when all is said and done.

You are not going to find cheaper. Even the DMV in our state charges 3% more if you pay with credit card to cover their processing fees.

If you do significant volume in PayPal your fees come down... But not much.

Third party processors like click bank charge huge fees 7-9% plus large transaction fees.

PayPal and merchant accounts are the cheapest. Look into pay pal micro payments.

But if your business model looses all it's profit on a $.30 transaction fee...You have to rethink your business model because what you are seeking is not available in the merchant industry.
