Heres the deal. I'm taking part in a competition to win $1000 if I can get the most traffic to my website before January 1st 2009.

I'll split that $1000 50/50 with the person who can help do this and win the competition. You can either show me some good methods or you can use your traffic generating knowledge to give my site tons of traffic. Either way is good for me.

Anyone up for it?

Dave

Looks like you're the only one so far. You reckon you can you bring me some traffic? I'll be glad to give you half the prize.

Anyone else? The more the merrier! $500 is $500. If you can get me that traffic then I'll split it with you.

I'm not a huge expert on traffic or anything, but I do have ONE method I personally use that doubles my traffic compared to when I DON'T use it. I'd be willing to share. Do you want suggestions here, or PM'd to you?

        Hey Jane

Just share it here. Sure it can benefit everyone then. Thanks.

It's really no big secret, and I'm sure a LOT of other people do it, but I make sure to socially bookmark every blog post I make, every Ezine article I write, and every Squidoo lens I build. Each time I update a lens or a blog, I bookmark it again. I use Social Marker, and bookmark to 11 (sometimes 12, since Propeller won't let you bookmark Squidoo lenses) social bookmarking sites. It makes a HUGE difference in my traffic!

      Thanks Jane

I'll do that. You have to be registered with the site that social marker uses first dont you?

I fixed the site Justin. I was updating the header and mashed my wordpress file up. Sorted now though.

Yes, you need to register with each site you want to use on Social Marker. After that, it's pretty easy.

I guess you tell me what you've did and I correlate it with google analytics.

So you want some warrior members to do the work for you ... and trust that you'll actually pay one of them for winning the competition for you ... when you really have no idea who would have sent the traffic or caused it to be sent ... when it would most likely be the combined efforts of those warriors that wins the prize for you?

    Sweet deal - for you.

      I agree with Mike here.

You could easily do deals with 10 warriors via PM, get 10 times the traffic you could get yourself and simply turn around to each warrior and state - "sorry, we didn't get top spot."

      Easy $1000 for you.

Sorry, not interested. I'd be surprised if anyone was.

  • I would have to agree with Mike above unless you can completely convince us how you would be tracking each of us separately. Even Google Analytics can not provide this information.

I'm sure the naysayers mean well, but I think it comes across as rude.

You are assuming Mr. Dunn is dishonest, you're just not coming right out and saying it.

What if I were the one making the offer? Or a longstanding member here?

If you don't want to participate fine. If you aren't sure it's on the up-and-up, that's fine, too. But ask HOW Dave is going to track it instead of making veiled (or direct) accusations.

In effect, you are sabotaging his efforts, which could be completely legitimate. Why assume the worst?

Help a Warrior out, or don't - but don't discourage those who want to help.

Dave has also said anyone who has a method can share it in the post, which would benefit everyone. What's wrong with that?

    All the best,
    Michael
