hacker news posting problem (help please?)

i'm trying to post my comment / URL on news. ycombinator. com (Hacker News) and it never shows up in the feed for other people to see.

i use the "submit" button and enter my info and URL and I can see in in MY "newest" list but other people can't see it.

any ideas what the heck i'm doing wrong? it's driving me nuts.

if you're not familiar with the site, ycombinator funds startups in the united states which is why i thought folks here may have used them before or may be familiar with them.

      right. well, if you've been to the site, you would see that it's actually not just hacker news. that's just the name of the site and likely where they started.

      I have heard from the website owner of a particularly popular site that it brings them a ton of traffic since it's more targeted than say.. twitter.

      and generally people here have been really helpful and don't just reply with smartass comments, so i was hoping that someone could point me in the right direction.

    You bumped the thread twice. No one answered. I'm not being a smartass - I could be wrong but I kind of doubt that many people here have even heard of Hacker News.

    Why don't you contact their support desk instead? They know their system, they ought to be able to tell you what's not working - much more so than anyone here.

    i've obviously already emailed their support before posting here as well as reading their FAQ but I haven't heard back from them and i need to get this figured out for a project i'm working on.

    any actual help would really be appreciated.
