The new way to market yourself?

Hey,

My name's William Tha Great, here from Houston, Texas.

Ok, so I told a little white lie.

This is not a new way to market yourself, but the a way that is rarely used. In order to really market yourself and your brand effectivily, it takes a lot of different elements. When you are figuring things out you need to find your own way. Find what works for you because what works for another person is not guaranteed to work for you. Stop doing things just because someone else tells you it is what's right. You be the judge of what's right and what marketing techniques actually produce.

Here's a couple questions you should ask yourself today...
  • Do you always take people's word?
  • What makes you different from everyone else?
  • How do you like to market products?
  • What's not working for you right now?
Making your own foot prints in the snow

The other day I was on Twitter and Copyblogger said something I will not forget. Excuss me if I mess this up, but it went something like this:

"I'm starting to believe the key to becoming a successful marketer starts by looking under the hood rather than stopping for a guru oil change."

Those are some powerful words with a lot of meaning. Take the time to learn the ropes for yourself then you will not always look to the guru's for help.

Thoughts?

      Hey Big,

      Thanks for the response!

Yes, this is a question that you must figure out. There is something in us all that makes us different from the next person. Find out what makes you different. Many times the same thing that makes you different is the same thing that makes you happy.

      Hope this helps!

      God bless,

There are tons of people out there promoting the same stuff.

I think relationship based marketing is great.

If people trust you, they'll buy something.

I think the first step in successfully marketing yourself is to concentrate on being yourself and learning to be comfortable with who you are. A lot of people think they need to be a fire-breathing guru to be successful in this business, and it just isn't true.

You are absolutely right! I tried to be someone else and that did not work. The only way I have gotten anywhere in life now has been by being myself. It took alone time, patience and I learned a lot about myself.
