Ok so my site is FINALLY live!!!

For the beginning part, I will advertise my product on a forum. I have spoken to the forum owner and sent him my product and he said if it's any good, he'll write a recommendation for my site and discuss a launch on his forum and do a special offer for the 1st 30 or so people to buy it.

I'd like to do a pre-launch first and get a few people talking about it. and THEN hit them with it.

I also know a few list owners who may promote it too. BUT how would I profits share with them?

If I have say 3 list owners and they all agree to promote my product to their lists, how do I know who came from where?

Also, how would I get my site to be ranked on Google?

I suspect that this is the hard bit.

Do I need to submit my site to the search engines? If so, how do I do it?

I must admit, it is only now that these questions have occured to me.

When I created my product my intention was to sell it this forum where people are hanging out but I never gave thought to outside of it so I wouldn't know which keywords to rank for or anything like that:confused:

Can you help?

Thanks!

The easyiest way to keep tracking of the referal you get form each of the list owners, is making them your affilaites. As affilaites, they will have a unique ID.

To rank your site on Google, you should start by doing keyword reseach and analyzing your competion. This will give you an idea of how difficult getting a good rank will be. After this, you will need to do optimize your site for the choosen keywords and build backlinks.

If you can get even JV partners and some future affiliates you may never have to worry about it ranking in Google.

Search engines are only of many sources of traffic. If there are any particular marketers you follow... I'm sure they have products that sell well but aren't ranking for anything other than their own product name on Google etc.

I have a product in a hobby niche which ranks well for my main keyword because the keyword is in the domain and built some backlinks to it. It's quite a 'thin' site (ie. only a few pages and all the content is on the sales page) which will get harder and harder to rank for vs. a proper site with content.

With regards splitting the money... you have a few options. 1) Trust... 2) Run something like Rapid Action Profits so they get the money straight into their PayPal account or 3) Stick it on network like Clickbank or use something like Nanocast, eJunkie etc.
