Building A Website, Suggestions, Comments, Feedback

I'm planning on using Word Press for my site, thinking about using NuBlu for the theme. What will I be selling? A system that teaches you how to start, run, or a grow, a very specific type of business. The system is based on my families experiences over 32 years in that same business. I may offer training classes as well, or at the very least training videos, I'm going to offer other products and services in the future. But you get the general idea. What I am wondering is, what are the absolute must haves for my site? What sort of content should I give away for free? What should I do to promote my site? How can I maximize my traffic, minimize my bounce rate, maximize my email opt in rate, make sure my emails get read, and sell product. I'm new to all this, don't get me wrong I have plenty of ideas, I'm wondering what your ideas are.

    As for traffic there are many ways. It sounds like a press release would work very well in your situation.

    The better the opt-in box looks, and the more prominently it is displayed the higher your opt-in rate. Then provide your list with awesome information to build a relationship of trust.

      Your opt-in list is the most important thing. Build a list of
      prospects from the start.

      There's plenty on the forum so use the search
      function and get going. You'll learn as you go along.

      If you can afford it make sure to outsource using Odesk,
      fiverr, etc.

      Don't get stuck with the technical stuff, Good luck

        I totally agree with Ross... The key is always building a list. Your free offer must be something of value that someone would actually want

          I'm beginning to question the wisdom of using word press as well, since I suck at SEO via word press. I am not very good with word press. Where as with a simple website template, I can build a site that rocks in an hour, and have it to the top of Google in 3 days, (Like my stock broker likes to say, past performance, is no guarantee of future earnings). Word press is out of my comfort zone, It is just easier to tweak, especially when I begin adding loads of free content.

      I agree with this. And would add that you should not just call it a free report but a "special report". That word special is important.

      Also be sure that even though it's a free giveaway, make it good enough quality that you will create great rapport with them and have them appreciating and anticipating receiving messages from you in the future. Drive traffic to the e-mail capture page (should have a squeeze page just for this purpose on your site).

      As for traffic, well, there's way too much to say there to even begin commenting. Do an advanced google search for traffic searching within the domain warriorforum.com for some ideas to get started. Once you do, don't get overwhelmed, pick a few and get to it!

    Alessandro I would suggest looking at another website that has what you like and then model your system after it.

    Too Often we get caught in the details when people have done great research into these types of items already.

    IF you are familiar with blueprinting or Mapping a website do that.. it becomes easier once you are working on off items versus spinning about where to start.

      Actually, to be honest, I already have a website, and a blog, edited the way I want them. I just can't decide which to use. Plus version 1.0, won't look anything like 5.0 I'm sure. Just trying to make sure I haven't forgotten, or overlooked anything.
