I've heard the power of offering a free trial to your product. People enter in their details, get the program, and are only charged after, say 30 days, if they keep the product. How is this done? It's basically a free trial of the product and very powerful, except I don't know how it's done. How could it be done with Authorize.net account? |

Joshua, In all honesty, if you want to make money, you need a simple way to weed out of the people that are guaranteed to cancel from those that are likely to stick with it. The best way to do this is by offering a $1 to $10 trial with attached continuity or a lump-sum payment at the 14, 30 or 45 day mark. Authorize.net will allow you to do this, but so will Clickbank, 1SC, or most high-quality payment processors. You may need to purchase an upgrade module, but look in the administrative interface for an "automatic rebill" feature. In the feature, you'll have the options to select the initial amount to charge, the initial trial length, how many times to rebill the customer, and how much to charge for subsequent payments. This is becoming much more common, so it shouldn't be difficult to find or understand when you're setting it up in your payment system. I hope this helps. Warm Regards, -William Clements |
