A Question about inner pages on a high PR website

People always say having your website's link on a high PR website means big juice for your website.

I want to know whether having your link on a high PR website on an inner page which has PR 0 gives more juice that just a normal website with PR 0.

Your link might be on a PR8 website but the page where your link is has the value of PR 0, so is there any benefit whatsoever?

Thanks for any help!

Well yes it's better to have a new backlink on an old, established, authority domain versus a new domain that is not yet trusted by google.

I don't know Google's exact algorithm but I can say yes.

There are hundreds of factors Google or other search engines take into account for ranking a page. And the PR of the website from where the backlink is coming is just one of the factors.

A bakclink from a PR0 page on a PR8 site is much more valuable than
    a backlink from a PR0 page on a PR0 site.

This is what is called getting backlinks from authority sites.

There is, Tom, but it's typically a small benefit.

Nowhere is this more widely and clearly seen (and monitored) than in the field of article marketing: articles submitted to directories whose home page is PR-5/PR-6 are published on PR-0 pages on those sites, for example. They'll start off ranking very slightly better than the same article would on a PR-0 page of a PR-0-home-page-site, but really only very slightly.

The overall relevance of the subject-matter of the site to the subject-matter of the link is far more significant than the PR of the site's home page.
