Newbies and Struggling Marketers....listen up

Hey Warriors,

Lately I've been talking with a lot of marketers who are struggling, frustrated and overwhelmed. It's hard for me to hear because I can remember being in that position and how difficult it can be. There are a few things I've figured out in the last couple years that have really changed my career and life in general and I wanted to share it with all of you.

I'm one of those people who tried everything, I mean everything out there. I've done facebook fan pages, twitter marketing, niche websites, article marketing, SEO, PPC, forum marketing you name it. At one point I had over 30 websites going at once. All of them barely making me any money and stressing the hell out of me. It wasn't until I began to keep a laser focus on one thing at a time that things picked up for me.

I get people that ask me all the time how can I make money online? The answer is there are a million ways, literally. What you have to do is pick a method, a model, a system that not only works but that fits you. If you have a skill that's in demand offer a service. If you don't have any skills that are in demand, learn ONE. Get really good at it. But make sure you do what fits you, what interests you, not just what you think will make you money, or you'll burn out in no time.

You have to decide what kind of business you want to have, how it's going to look and how you're going to build it to that point. Once you have decided that, seek out the people who are where you want to be. Contact them, don't just buy products all day and read blogs. Actually get in touch with those people, find the answers you need. It's easier than you think.

You have to decide what your internet marketing career is going to be like, don't let other people decide for you or you'll always be chasing the carrot.

Most importantly you have to focus on one thing that will make you money and get really damn good at that before you branch out. And then you have to take consistent, decisive action. You have to be super determined, persistent and have a failure is not an option attitude about it.

Alright I won't go on forever about this. I just want you all to know that it is completely possible to get what you want out of the IM world. But you have to know what that is and you have to actively go out and get it.

    Exactly! When trying to make money online one should look at it like building a business. It's going to take time. It's not going to be easy and it sure as hell won't happen overnight.

    I always tell people if your looking for an "easy" button, keep going to your nine to five job. That's easy. Running your own business, whether online or offline, is not.

      Your definitely right about that. It took me a long time to figure out that it's not just about "making money online". It's about building a real business, and that is hard work no matter how you slice it.

    yes , there are a lot of ways to make money online. but laser focus on one important and productive strategy is going to make a difference. if you want to do something about your internet marketing career , then you should focus on one thing at a time

    Yeah I agree. I think most newbies try to learn too much too fast, because they always feel like they're missing some magic ingredient that must be added to their "recipe" in order to start making money. Instead of finding that elusive magic ingredient, they end up with info overload and spin their wheels, doing a lot of things at once but going nowhere.

    Unfortunately, the only real magic ingredients in the internet marketing recipe are focused action, work and persistence.

    Rather focus on one thing and persist until you succeed. Then you can try the next thing.
