Best way to monetize this?

I found something interesting and don´t want to mess up.

the domain is a directory type of domain, something like:

cakefactories.com

but with another product.

it has 165,000 searches a month, and 14K competition in quotes. I have exact match domains, picked up the .com and .net

These factories usually offer guided tours, and there are two main categories: industrial and gourmet.

I see two possible routes, one is to add the contact info of the different factories and monetize via adsense or similar. Or give the factories space to add real information, photos, videos, events, etc and charge them the spot.

The first form is easier but has far less revenue; the second might be better for the long run, but I need a established site with traffic to make it work.

How would you optimize this to be sustainable in the short and long run?

    I like the 2nd option better since it will do well in the long run and create a great partnership. If the 2nd option doesn't work too well, than you can switch over to the 1st one.

      the second option needs a lot of muscle, and it is not viable until there is solid traffic.Thanks for the input.

    First place adsense and post a banner or two with the advertise text.Give a best pricing for them.So that searching guys might contact you.
    Or you can contact the related factory owners too and get advretisement up and running.

      yes, it looks like the way to go. I already run a directory the other way around; it was an interesting experience that didn´t end too well as I run short of resources.

      the banner seems to give an easy transition. It can work.

    You could also consider selling the domains out right to an actual cake factory or to a online directory for a small profit.
