How Do You Determine A FAir Price To Sell A Site/Blog?

Hello Warriors....

Just a quick question.

I have a blog (self hosted on Wordpress format). It is an exact match domain, and it had been sitting at position #12 for the past 18 months, making about $2-3 a month in Adsense revenue.

However, about a month ago it rose to position #2. It's been floating anywhere between position 2-5.

Now, it's making about $1 a day in Adsense. Over the last 30 days, it as generated $25.42 in Adsense sales ($2.58 total so far). It makes sense because since it's rise to the first page of Google, it's traffic has increased by 10 times.

The blog itself is about 5% original content, and 95% autoblog content (which I disabled a few months ago).

Given the info I have provided, what would be an estimated fair price to sell it for?

Thanks in advance.

Usually anywhere from 9-36 months revenue. Since you've only been number 2 for a month, you'd probably be looking at the lower range (9-12 months) revenue, or around $200-$300 for the site.

An established site that had been making that much for years would be more likely to get 36 months worth of revenue.

Good luck. Just because you have a blog...doesn't mean that you will be able to sell it for a lot of money.

Take a look at some of the sites that sell on Flippa.com.

You need to have some real skills to make good looking websites... and some of them only sell for a few hundred bucks.

I believe it is a standard at flippa that the worth is a 10 - 12 month income of the website.

There are also some websites that tell you the value of a website based on alexa ranking, traffic, quality of traffic etc.
