so tonight (hopefully) i want to get my site open, but i'm confused. all my site is going to be is:

main page (1 post)
----> download page
----> thank you page

and that's all.

now, how do i do this? i have taken all sidebars off, my main page has the header, and one post (and a footer). how do i do the other two pages? do i do them as posts, or what? it won't be updated either. i want it to be like a static site. i'm using wordpress theme thesis 1.8.

any help would be appreciated!!!

also, the one post that i want to have, can i make a html table with my content in it, and put it in the post (images etc.)? i just want it to promote the product, then people download if they want to, that's all. can i do that?

thanks guys!!!

    1. For the setup you described use Pages not posts.

    2. No need for tables: just type your text and follow the obvious links to add images.

        As mentioned before definitely use pages for your main pages you described.

        If for some reason you want to be able to add tables then here are a couple of suggestions.

        If you use a plugin called TinyMCE Advanced you can add an option to insert tables into your posts.

        That is the easy answer.... but if for some reason you don't want to do that, another way I have done it was to build your page with the tables, in a web editor like Kompozer and then copy the relevant code into the page under the HTML tab in your WordPress Editor.

        Obviously the second option is way more fiddly but depending on what you are wanting to achieve, there are a couple of ideas for you to try.

        Hope it helps.

    If you use pages then make sure you turn off the pages on the menu. They have a few plug-ins that will give you this control.

    You also want to make the page no-index so people can't locate and pirate your downloads and thank you pages.

    Also use a download delivery and protection service so people won't know your download page:
    e-junkie.com
    getdpd.com
    dlguard.com etc
