How to get RSS for a niche?

I am just starting to work with RSS feeds and I am a little confused. I can find RSS feeds to use on my website and blog without any problem. But what I want to do is get RSS feeds for a sub-niche.

For example: Let's say I am promoting offers in the auto insurance industry (my sub-niche). I can find feeds for 'Insurance', but this will include auto insurance, home insurance, health insurance, etc.

I have not been able to find a way to filter these feeds for this sub-niche. I thought about using a feed reader to gather the feeds then filter them and create my own feed that is tailored to this sub-niche. I have not had any luck there either.

I am currently able to have these main niche feeds (such as insurance) automatically update on my website. I would like to have the capability to use the sub-niche feeds to automatically update to my website instead.

Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Michael Travis

    Hi Michael.

Check out the Google Reader threads in my sig, they may help you find what you're looking for.

    Tim,

That is exactly what I was looking for. In fact, I had just read Keith Kogane's automated system last night and after installing WPOM to my blog I got to thinking how I could narrow down my feeds. Your post on how to turn Google Reader into a semi-automated blogging machine was great.

    Thanks,

    Michael
