How do I Calculate Site Value?

I plan to sell my blog with > 100,000 page views per month. Its monthly revenue is around US$250/m. Could you suggest me at what price I should sell that site? What factors should I consider?

Many thanks.

Lukman

When I buy I personally only care about 2 things - revenue and how it is generated (i.e are there paid marketing strategies or elements which will stop once the previous owner hands over the site).

However, a lot of people care about things like Page Rank, number of incoming links, entry in Dmoz, links from .edu and .gov sites, Alexa ranking, number of visitors, length of visitor stay, visitor number of pages visited etc.....

Go for 12 times the monthly revenue and you might get a sale.

So - for selling, as much information as possible is probably what you want to provide.

    There are many factors involved.
    1. is your blog evergreen or seasonal? What niche is it? If its something like weight loss it would sell for as much as x10 its current value, if its something like xmas gifts then it might not sell now, but you can wait till the season is within a few months ahead & sell it then for higher value.
    2. Current revenue, stability & sources: What sources? Adsense? Affiliate sales? If you manage to get the same profit every month sell it anywhere for 10-20 times your monthly revenue.
    3. Traffic sources: organic? paid? direct? if its organic with good seo results it will go for as much as 20 times the value.

Finally its all about finding a perfect buyer so don't sell quickly if you want good return. But if you want to just let it go, you can go to sites like dp, or here on warrior & make a quick sale.

If you make $250 a month i would say around $2k to upto 4k
    good luck,

According to your explanation traffic will be the key factor of your blog. Most seller counts domain age before buying...

Compare your site with other similar sites with similar revenues on Flippa.com

That is the best way to do it.

Using those online website worth calculators will give you a completely inaccurate figure.

Your website is only worth what people are willing to spend for it.

well, for me one main thing is important:

when you get your traffic comes from search engines what kind of keywords are people using to come to your site?

after that you should look at how much Adwords would charge for those keywords. so, if you get 100k visitors and each of them would come from keywords which cost around 5 cent in Adwords then someone who would like to have the same amount of traffic would have to pay $5000 per month.

if you would provide a disagio of lets say 50% to a buyer then it would equal to $2500.

Taking this number and multiplying it by 12 would give you a sales price of $30.000

I know this sounds very much for most of you but the new owner would get all this traffic at a 50% discount compared to the normal rate of Adwords.
