"Best" can be subjective. I use BuyDomains as they only take 20% to reach the wider market where GoDaddy takes 30%.

Interesting, does the domain need to be registered with BuyDomains, for them to sell it?

Oh never mind, I think I answered my own question. I see that BuyDomain is part of Afternic, so yes it would need to be, if you wanted their premium service.

I sell a ton of domains on eBay. Sure, I'm not getting $3000+ for a domain but in my book, buying a domain for $7 at GoDaddy and selling it a week later for $150 is a darn good profit margin. Let some other guy hold onto it and list it at Flippa, Sedo, etc...

I sell about 30 domains a month on eBay for anywhere between $70-$300. Yeah, you're not going to get $500+ for a domain on eBay but like I said, I'll take 10x-30x profit any day. Also, I've never had a domain I listed at eBay NOT SELL and have to renew it.

The choice is yours, do you want to wait for the big bucks or take a quick easy profit.

Do you do better starting out with a low 9.99 (or whatever) bid, or do you just do 'buy it now'? I've sold other things on ebay and lower starting prices seemed to work better, for me--curious if the same thing happens selling domains.

and btw, eBay takes 7% + 4% Paypal cut for sales in that particular category so it's less expensive than any of the other alternatives.

They do.But the rate of domain sales in flippa is very less. Its a great place for buying/selling established sites.

That's been my experience. I've sold some domains there in the $40-70 range. Not exactly worth risking a $19 listing fee.

That's why I use eBay to sell domains in that price range. I pay 5 cents for a listing fee and like 11% Final Value Fees but eBay has millions of users and traffic.

How would you rate Ebay in terms of getting paid safely? Have you had any shenanigans with buyers claiming they didn't receive the domain, and getting Paypal to refund the money?

Well, that's not only an issue with EBay but with almost any site which allows you to trade. you can met with a good buyer or a bad. that's entirely your luck. i think you should look at the seller/buyer rating before conducting trade to be on the safer site and the best part is you can find this feature on each and every site with ease.

Correct. Flippa is more of a place for selling established sites with revenue.

Sedo.com and Afternic.com are my favorite places to "passively" sell to end-users (retail). To sell domains wholesale, to other domainers, NamePros.com is a great choice. However, when selling to other domainers, expect 10% or less of the retail price.

When listing a domain on ANY general domain site like Sedo.com, you'll have around 4 times the chance of selling if you specify a "Buy now" price. Using just a "make offer" listing scares potential buyers off.
