What concerns you most about the direction Internet Marketing is going in or the state of Internet Marketing?

What changes need to take place? More Government Regulations needed or Less?

Here's one of my concerns, Spam is still a big problem.

Perhaps it calls for ...
1. Stiffer penalties!
2. More financial rewards for whistle blowers!
or even
3. Financial incentives for major spammers not to spam.

Just a thought!
What concerns you?

IMHO Spam laws are like gun control laws, the real offenders don't care. It's Honest Joe Blow who has to jump through a million hoops. The biggest spammers just change their email, ip and/or proxy and keep on going.

I try not to worry about it. I do my part to follow the rules and respect my list.

The search engines are constantly picking up on spam tactics and they simply don't work like they used to.

You can spend money buying the latest bluefart tool and spend time learning it and then mass spam your links to thousands of posts, OR you can guest post on a related blog with quality unique content and you will probably rank higher for the same term.

I don't think financial incentives for notorious spammers to STOP spamming is a good idea because there are always ways around this.

I think Google especially is doing a good job of making spam obsolete anyway.

I have to respectfully disagree with #2. I think that leaves more room for people with bad intentions or blackhatters all together to start some mess just for a few bucks. Now the honest guys are gonna do it regardless large reward or no reward, but as soon as people [especially those not currently making much online] find out making money online....im mean being awarded via the net...just got easier, I feel all hell will break loose!

No this could just be an over dramatic opinion and I'll take that, but I do think before a reward system is put in place there needs to be some set rules to ensure no ones rep is ruined and no authories time is wasted because some jerk wanted an easy meal ticket.

Email privacy, people selling our email account without our concern. I subscribe to one of the internet marketers mailing list through their auto-responder web-form. Later unsubscribed since no more interested.

Now, I should not get any email from anyone since I already unsubscribed. But what happened was, I got ton of SPAM email from unknown...sigh :-(

Stiffer penalties are great but it's really hard to get spammers that are out of the country. I think if they are already spamming, nothing will stop them
