A noob question about Amazon

Hello everybody,

This question is for people that are promoting Amazon products.

I've seen review sites that use the famous 'exitsplash' script.

The Exitsplash script prevents people to close a page: you get a popup when you try to close a page; if you dont close the page anymore, you're redirect to a new page with an offer or a gift.

In those sites, instead of a freebie, you're redirect to the Amazon offer, and the code of the affiliate is embedded in the url.

I think that is against the TOS, because Amazon declares that you're paid if a person click on a link..

What is your opinion?

Thank you so much,

Massimo

ps: hope to explain my thought clearly..

Yeah, that would be against the TOS.

        Hi Massimo,

You're right that would be against their TOS.

I would imagine that it would be against all of the big affiliate TOS's, but I could be wrong.

Use the exitsplash trick to redirect leaving people to CPA offers. Would that be a bad Idea?

Many of the cpa networks have offers that won't have a problem with an exit popup used to get leads. Maxbounty.com has many that would be acceptable and I'm sure all the big networks have something you could use.

If you aren't sure just ask your affiliate manager for clarification.

Definitely against TOS... Check with your CPA network to make sure they accept exit traffic. Most will accept this type of traffic as long as your are driving traffic to them.

yes, I would understand that this is against their TOS, because it is a bit like PPV, and that is totally not allowed.

  • If you're promoting Amazon products on your site, you can't use the exit splash regardless of where/who it redirects to. To paraphrase Homie the Clown: "We don't play that."
