Hi,

Many of us may have heard and tried Animoto. Any much better alternative available?

    Try ClipGenerator.com, it's a free alternative.

      Hi Jerry,

Our site, stupeflix.com, is a great tool to make professional-looking videos in a few clicks. It's also available directly in youtube at youtube.com/create

You can add photos, video clips, text slides, text-to-speech or audio voice-overs, and we give just the right amount of control to make great videos in a few minutes. There's a preview function so you can look what your video will look like before getting it exported. We have plans for unlimited, white-label videos with commercial licensing for pros (starts $39 a month) and resellers (starts $59 a month).

You can try it for free, and I'd love to get your feedback. We keep adding new themes and features very often, so any tips on what you would like to see next is useful!

      Best,

      Jeff from Stupeflix

There's quite a few software options that can do the same thing as Animoto. Even if you're pretty good with iMovie or Windows Movie Maker you can achieve the same effect. PowerDirector9 has MagicStyle Movie Wizard. Photodex ProShow is another application that I've heard good things about.

I've heard Clip Generator is pretty decent, although I will admit I haven't used it yet!

Has anyone here used ClipGenerator.com I've looked at the website, it looks pretty good. I presume it's not as good as Animoto because it's free?

As it's free, do Clip Generator put some kind of watermark or stamp with their name on the videos like Animoto does with their free version?

There doesn't seem any point using Clip Generator. It doesn't even let you download the video so you can't upload it to YouTube.

Does anyone know if there is a way to download the video? I tried the real player "Download this clip" function, but it only downloads the audio, not the video itself.

Great info in this thread. I just started making youtube vids a few days ago. I learned the basics of Powerpoint and Camtasia in one day. I've made and uploaded 3 videos in 3 days. The tools in this thread will help polish my future vids.

Wow - some great sites listed here. Pro Show appears to provide a lot of control over creating your slideshow! I still haven't seen any real competitors to Animoto in terms of the quality of graphics that appear in the background, such as the Water or Fire Styles.
