Do you think the surge on ebook sales is killing ebook prices?

I started to think about this the other day. Ebooks a few years ago would easily go for over $27-$67 if not more. Now with the BOOM of mainstream publishers going the ebook route on Kindle, etc. the prices of those books are just a few bucks.

So I'm wondering if this is going to kill the ebook market where books are over $20+ a download since people are now getting use to them being just a few bucks.

What do you think?

It's all in packaging. Call something an ebook and it's worth around $20. Call it a course, guide, tutorial, program or something with more perceived value, and it has more perceived value.

Right now I'm working on a "Comprehensive Guide." Sounds better than an old run of the mill ebook, wouldn't you say?

I agree with this. I'm steering clear of "ebook" as much as I can. "Comprehensive Guide" is good.

I think the commodity of buying an eBook has really changed over the past couple of years.

It went from being a new and exciting thing that was packed with good information and answers. Now, because a lot of people have really taken it upon themselves, the quality of ebooks have really changed. Casual internet visitors tend to shy from the "Get a free ebook, all you have to do is sign up" gimmick.
