I Need Somebody To Look At This Screen Capture For Me

This is a screen capture of the Warrior Forum main discussion.

Please look at the area I have circled and tell me if it doesn't look duller
than the same area on your monitor.

I think my monitor is going on me, but maybe it's just my eyes.

Here's the link to the screen print.

Thanks.

Looks ok to me, but then, a screen cap wouldn't be capturing what you see on your screen if the problem was your monitor.

  • If it was your monitor, it wouldn't show up on the screen shot.

I'd ask your wife or your daughter or wife or someone else physically there.

But no, the picture on my screen looks fine.

Money isn't real, George. It doesn't matter. It only seems like it does.

Okay, I gotta know, the background of this forum, is it bright white or
dull white or some other color?

I'm color blind so I have no idea what it's supposed to look like.

It's a light gray in some spots and the sides are a sort of grayish-blue. All of that on a white background, which you can see on the sides of the frames. It's all very light, which is why it's hard to tell. It's common for men to see some colors differently from women; it's just the way their eyes are made. There probably is nothing wrong with your vision.

Ah okay, it IS grayish blue, so it's white

          Okay.

Yeah, it looks fine to me, too. But the others are right (it didn't occur to me, either); a screen shot will look fine when it's not on your monitor. Is it dimmer in just that one spot but the rest looks okay?

It's the whole thing that just looks duller.

Earlier the screen started to flicker and then definitely turned blue. I shut
everything down and started back up and now it just looks duller. It's just
      not as bright.

This sure sounds like your monitor is getting very tired... How many miles/years you got on it? I had a similar flicker/color variation on an old monitor... after a week, it decided to 'go to sleep' permanently.

Also, a screenshot won't tell us anything, BUT... if you took a decent digital photo of your screen, that would be a way for us to take a look at what you are seeing.

Hey Steve if you are using SnagIt sometimes the settings for saving an image will reduce to 90%... Try saving an image in SnagIt but before you actually hit the save button click on Advance and have a look.

Thanks Mike. Actually, I'm using a very old program called Paint Shop Pro
version 4. It's like 15 years old, at least.

I don't know, all of a sudden I'm looking at this monitor and it just doesn't
look as bright as it used to.

Maybe my eyes are just going.

    Steve,

If the monitor turned everything shades of blue, sometimes it is a cable problem. Unscrew and re-seat the monitor cables and see if you see a difference. Also, use the monitor's AUTO setting to re-synch the monitor. Last, but not least, you can try to reset the monitor to factory settings. Each monitor does this differently so you'll need to look it up for yours. Hope this helps.

take some of those xxxx thousands, go to BB (or better, order online from newegg.com) and buy a NICE 22" or 24" LCD. I got a 22" BenQ X2200W, i LOVE it! Sometimes tho i wish i had a 24" since i have so much on the screen all the time.

You got an LCD or an old Tube? Tubes are prone to lose brightness, contrast etc. if they're old.

Looks normal for a Windows machine Steven .... I see no difference in the different positions on the screenshot..

Normally looking at a invert you can see differences and again in this case I see none..

But again this also is your monitor that you are looking through and a sreenshot will not really show us what you see..
