Thanks for the info. I have heard that it is extremely hard to convert Twitter user to paying customers though so I am not so sure how effective it is for affiliate marketing. It may work better for CPA offers.

Seems like it would be too me. People will not follow your twitter posts unless you provide quality content and value and that takes time and effort.

I use my twitter account to highlight my blog and it works great for that. But I don't think there's any "easy" way to make money off of twitter, i.e. in the sense that you don't have to put in a lot of blood, sweat and tears...

I don't think you have to put in a lot of blood, sweat and tears.

The most important thing is to post useful, interesting content (most of which can be from your blog) and get many followers.

The keep it interesting factor, and not always posting about business
Magpie being the first sponsored advertising program for twitter

I disagree. The method I use is highly targeted and you actually do not need a single follower.

the best thing to do is to grow a huge network of targeted followers and then promote your posts, products and programs. If you target the right group of users you'll get more exposure and your tweets will be spread all over Twitter. Twitter is a great place to make money online. You can either promote post sponsored tweets/affiliate links or promote your sites elsewhere online.

It's not easy to make money on Twitter as it was before a while. I show also lately that Twitter bans accounts from search results. Many people don't know it but your hashtags or tweets or your keyword at your profile will never appear in search results. I mentioned in another thread if you want to learn if you're a "lucky one" search from:your_nickname and if you see no results ....
