Clickbank product promotion - How should I pre-sell this?

I am about to begin a new campaign promoting a new Clickbank product in the gaming industry. This is a software product. I will be promoting via my mailing list, and also via many different internet promotions including SEO and paid traffic. I have promoted numerous Clickbank products, but none in this Niche, and none via E-mail Marketing, which I plan on doing now for the first time with a Clickbank product.

The Clickbank product already has a great sales page, which converts well based on the statistics I have seen, but I want to create my own site to funnel into their page. I was thinking of possibly doing a product review site for the product, or a blog about the product's niche industry, or a squeeze page with a video offering a free bonus and then funneling them into their sales page. My last idea was to create a squeeze page offering a general eBook on how to perform the activities in this niche, offering it free once they enter their information, but on the download page, also mention that I recommend using this specific product, as it is mentioned in the guide, and used in the guide for handling the functions of the activities.

The idea here is that it is better to own a site that promotes a Clickbank product, instead of just promoting a link, because that site holds value in Traffic and Revenue, and can later be sold, traded, etc.

What do you Warriors think of the options I listed above? Which one would you go with, and maybe you have other options I have not considered?

Your ultimate aim seems to build a site for flipping, which in such case any of your marketing methods sound viable. For the longer term, however, I found it more profitable to build lists around specific niches, then promote products within those niches. Products may come and go, but your most valuable asset is always in your lists.

I'm not really focused on flipping the site. I may or may not later on down the road. My focus is to actually have property as part of the marketing campaign. Much better than just promoting a link. Thanks for your input though, and I agree with building a niche-focused list, which is why I thought of offering an opt-in as part of a squeeze page. This way I develop a side list from the main list of niche-specific interested parties.

I think in general, gaming / gambling stuff already has a built in audience so how much pre-selling do you actually need? Just get the information in front of the right people and it should sell itself, no?

I think pre-selling is the wrong word, I apologize. I could just send them the affiliate link to the sales page of the product, and I know it would convert well with my list. However, I want to present information to them, and funnel them into making a purchase through my own website I would create, this way the traffic, etc. is coming to a website I own. This will allow me to sell it at a later date if I choose to do so.

Does that clarify a little bit better? I just want ideas on how to properly present something to visitors through my own website while at the same time funneling them into a purchase of the product.
