Looking for assistance in starting an online business. Any advice on what the latest information is and where to find it. I have search so many products my head is spinning. I have spent tons of $ with no success and am getting a bit tired of all the empty promises. I am fairly new at all this and need to make this work. Direction to a reputable mentor and ideas to get me up and running would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi lynng,

You'll get more useful answers if you tell us what you've tried so far and what your level of experience is. Do you have a website or product yet?

What you can do is do more research on the free information such as this forum. Whatever you do, don't buy anything unless you are sure that is what you need

      Two words.......

      WAR ROOM!!!!

Join it, study it, love it. Seriously, there is a ton of great stuff in the war room. Searching through this forum is great, don't hesitate to copy and paste and compile your own little guide as you come across things which instruct you on the correct way to do...things. Not even sure what your goal is as their are thousands of different online businesses.

I think affiliate marketing is still the best place to get started. No hassle of product creation and the risk of discouragement when your product falls on its face. With a start in affiliate marketing your goal is simply to learn to sell, which is essentially what internet marketing is: Selling

Just remember there is no such thing as instant gratification. Good things take time, be patient and take it one step at a time. Many await your haste because it typically opens your wallet wider and wider the quicker you try to succeed.

    Hi,

I would personally recommend Chris Farrell's chrisfarrellmembership dot com. I am an actual affiliate for the site, but would not post such a link here in the forum out of respect. He teaches people how to do affiliate marketing. Very newbie friendly. He has a clear, easy to follow teaching style. I love the fact that he emphasizes building a relationship based on value with your prospects/customers and not view them as cash machines. Great content is added on an ongoing basis. I have been a member for awhile now, so I speak from experience with the site. It is a paid membership $37 a month right now, but there is plenty of stuff on the site you can look at for free, so look around and don't buy into it right away & see what you think. You can also look the site's ratings up on IMReportCard as there are many reviews, almost all positive. Hey, you asked for mentors/programs, so I am recommending the person I consider a mentor and a site I know.

Whatever direction you end up going in, I wish you the best of luck!

  • You need to focus on the fundamentals in my opinion. Find a product to promote, set up your site about it, drive traffic to it (ideally targeted traffic through google).

Of course, this sounds too easy and most people will not use it, but that is a base of building any online business.
    Sent you a pm.

    Okay, number one.

    STOP SPENDING MONEY

Number two, take one of those "empty promises" products you spent your money on, and just do it.

The single biggest problem most newbies have is that they buy a product, and they read through it, and they say "well I don't believe that will work."

So they don't do it. They go buy another product instead. And they read through that one, and they say "well I don't really want to do that."

So they don't do it. They go buy another product instead. And they read through that one, and they say "well that seems like it would take a long time."

So they don't do it. They go buy another product instead.

    STOP MAKING EXCUSES

Just pick one. Chances are just about every product you've bought with "empty" promises will make you money. Most of the systems out there work.

But you have to do it.

You have to stop saying "well, I don't want to" and just step the hell up and do it. And keep doing it. And if you get discouraged, or bored, or tired, you stiffen your upper lip and sit up straight in your chair and keep doing it.

And in ninety days, you get to decide whether that product was full of empty promises.

Right now, on your hard drive, you have got a product that will make you a whole HELL of a lot more money than you spent on it. And the only reason it hasn't is that you have not gotten your butt in the damn chair and done what it told you to do.

The main issue many newbies have with IM is spending far too much time studying and contemplating/comparing systems and courses, and far too little time actually implementing them.

Here's a simple, actionable tip you should follow right away which should start putting you on the right path toward success in IM. For every hour that you spend studying a method or system, make sure that you spend at least an hour implementing it. Take stock of how you presently use your time - is it any wonder that you're not making any money, especially when you're continually perusing courses but not implementing them?

I have to agree with CDarklock. One of the biggest obstacles is getting overwhelmed and deciding to buy another product instead of focusing on one thing and just doing the work. In spite of what some people have said about IM, there IS some work that needs to be done.

Focus on one business model for a while and, if you actually do the work, most likely you WILL make money.

Sit down and think through exactly what it is you want to get out of your business.

Write down all the things you can in a 15 minute period.

    Then start prioritizing the list.

Focus on the areas that will get you closer to these goals and lifestyle. It really helps to know what it is you want and makes it much easier to gadge if what you are doing will work for you or not.

Choose the areas like affiliate marketing, free lancing your skills, developing and promoting your own products and pick the one that fits in line with what you want to get most. Time? some of these will take up much more of your time so if having free time and spending it with your family, taking vacations etc... developing a service based business may not be what you should focus on.

Those are examples and suggestions, feel free to take what works for you and ignore what doesn't.

I think you have the right idea with a mentor.

I personally have and will always use mentors.

I've paid $1,000s for mentoring/coaching but every time came out better because of it and have always made my initial investment back plus some.

Now, if you want my advice. If JobCrusher Xtreme is still open join it.

These guys are all 7 figure marketers and they are honestly interested in your success.

The program is not cheap when you look at the one time $1497 price tag but I can almost guarantee you've spent that on the numerous courses on your computer.

Now, some people will say ...omg I could never afford that but where there is a will there is a way. If someone put a gun to your head and said give me $1497 or you die I'd bet you find a way to get it.

This is just one program I recommend. There are others out there as well.

If you don't want to pay for coaching like this that's ok too. You CAN find all the information you need to be successful for FREE in this forum but you'll have to put the effort into search it out.

      Cheers!

      James
