Help required, need a membership site which does this...

Hi,

I am planning on starting a membership site, which will provide a new e-book each month.

Now, here's where the problem is, I don't want newly registered members to be able to access any of the e-books sent out in the earlier months. I need new members to have access only to e-books starting from 'their first registered month'.

I'm more of a quite onlooker, and not too much of a poster. I have read most of the Script suggestion threads starting from amember to Johnny's script, and I have also looked at most of the add-on requisite threads. I am a member of the private discussion forum too, however, I don't believe I have stumbled on anything that shows me the correct way to do this. I'm sure there is a thread somewhere on the forum, which gives you a step by step guide to do this, but I haven't managed to find it

Hope this is not a redundant question.

Inputs appreciated, thanks once again!

I highly recommend "drip feeding" the content. So give them (your members) access to all the books, but you will need to code your site so that a new member will get book#1 instantly, book#2 after x amount of days etc.etc..

It's not easy to do, but it's well worth it.

I'm sure that by searching the WSO forums, you will find the script.

You need to some kind of customization that suits your needs with any type of membership script. May be wordpress plug-in do this? I heard it allows only certain posts to members?

Robert Puddy's Launch Formula Marketing script will
allow you to set up different membership levels and
new members will start to receive content from
    month one, week one, etc.

    Hey Adiyta,

It might be a good idea for you take a look at Big Mike's EZCM, which is running as a WSO right now Go Here . Mike is very good at helping his customers taking their ideas and showing how to make it so with his EZCM.

FYI, I have been using it for the past several months as a beta testa and love it. And man if I can do it, anybody can.

aMember with the incremental content plugin can do drip feed content- where you send out lessons/content based on the date from which they individually subscribed.

But I think what you are looking to do is what I call the "book of the month" model, where they get content based on the the month they signed up. EG. Sign up in December 08 get december content forward, and can't access Nov 08 without buying another "archive" package.

aMember cant do that yet - although there's a hack to the IC plugin that may handle this (haven't tested)

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the obvious solution- only keep this month's content on the site.

      Chris!

I really like your straight forwardness../

      Another way would be ...

      1. Create a simple password protected members area folder... like yourdomain.com/members
      2. Now everything you put into this folder is password protected.
      3. Post all the downloads there...
      4. Make all the zip files passwords protected.
      5. Sends the password to the members each month via Autoresponder.

Now if I join in Dec., I will have the password for only the product that has been sent in December.

      But an even simpler way:-

      1. Post everything is the password protected members area directory...

      like yourdomain.com/members/dec08JKB6xs8

And send the URl via email through autoresponder.

      Simple.
