Not sure why Google did this, any ideas? I have a site with 5 pages excluding the homepage with these keywords each keyword is on a separate page. I'm ranking for:

mycity family photographer
mycity baby photographer
mycity child photographer
mycity maternity photographer
mycity model photographer

Google just recently crawled these pages and for some reason Google ranked three of these five pages for the keyword "mycity baby photographer" even though I have all pages properly SEO optimized for separate keywords. Anybody have any idea why this may have happened?

I would think because 3 of those keywords are related, child, maternity and baby, those would be Google lsi keywords.

Could also be that yourcity keyword photographer has a very low competition level in Google so they are ranking you for yourcity and photographer only.

You might want to try some deep link building via article marketing or other methods. It is common for a site's pages to swap around until their rankings are solidified. I'm assuming most of your site's links are to its homepage.

This site is fairly new and Google just indexed it. when I hit the cached link it comes up with some error even though this page is indexed. The other pages are not indexed but show up in the organic search under a different keyword. Sounds like what you said is true here. I might need to wait a few days and run the ranking software to see whats happening.

Each of the pages have a link to a different page within the site. I don't have all the pages linking to the homepage.
