Paypal Limited - Was Making $350+/day through it

They want:
Provide proof of delivery
Provide more information about payments

What should I do to resolve this?

They want to see my website or something?

I'm afraid they are going to limit my account, and then prevent it from doing anything..

and then after I submit all information, they freeze it.

It would be ideal if I can continue to re-use it to accept payment from customers.

Solve the problem you have before looking at other alternatives.

A limited account means they want more info. Usually it will tell you exactly what is needed when you go to your accunt.

Yes, they ask for shipping info but if you look carefully on that page I think there is a link telling you what to do if this is not a shipped product.

Limits can be a few days or a week or until you get all the info to them and Paypal looks it over. Just cooperate and don't be rude or demanding. Call them if you want but first submit any documentation requested.

2Checkout is a great place to start. Very small fee and you're set for life, deposited to your bank account immediately with free fraud checking. I got with them back in 03 or so with my first web hosting biz and they've been solid for me.

I'm with Vegas on this one, I can also vouch for bad PP dealings, especially when you have clients that may make false accusations and PP claims against you. Totally unfair as I've had an account frozen in the past.

This is becoming less of the normal response then 5 years ago....primarily because Pay Pal can and will freeze your account FOR ANY REASON THEY CHOOSE.....AND CAN AND WILL HOLD YOUR FUNDS FOR UP TO 180 DAYS.

Years ago...on this very forum....I said I hoped more honest marketers got screwed by Pay Pal....in order to prove my point.

Ironically the very same company that owns Pay Pal......Ebay......had the nerve to send me a POWER SELLER CERTIFICATE THE VERY DAY PAY PAL FROZE MY ACCOUNT WITH 100% PERFECT FEEDBACK...NOT A SINGLE COMPLAINT...NOT A SINGLE NEGATIVE. NOW U TELL ME HOW MUCH SENSE THAT MAKES?

I too was asked to send in enough personal information that they could literally steal my identity 100 x..........and oh yeah...the answer given as to why the froze my account?

"excessive sales." I am quoting the robot I finally reached on the phone.

$6800 and some odd change....was held from me earning interest for pay pay....and by the way.....after 180 days you wont get your money back....unless you call them and request it...and then it's phone tag baby.

Since one of my old post NUMEROUS HONEST MARKETERS HAVE BEEN JERKED AROUND BY PAY PAL......and the days of then freezing the accounts of crooks only are long over.

I exposed against threats from Pay Pal's legal "team".....the skim scam in which millions and million in frozen accounts sit in banks generating interest.....and even though I was completely exonerated of anything and was given my money back.....I earned not one penny of interest on what the STOLE from me.......and did not get so much as an apology.

Pay Pal has been sued....and the did in fact lose in one class action suit. Another is coming.

But be warned......3 years ago....if you mentioned that you were going to take any type of legal action against these *******s....you 'violated their TOS..." and your account was bannned. Banned spelled N A Z I S.

I find it interesting that if your FDIC insured band screwed you out of money .....you'd raise holy hell as well you should.

Yet Pay Pal (not FDIC insured) can do what they please..and rather then getting outraged people bend over and kiss the ass of the very thieves who take their money.

I have NEVER understood why anyone would give them that kind of power.

I will only use pay pal with the credit card option........and I use a merchant account because Pay Pal has NO regulation....they regulate themselves.....and I know for a fact numerous good Warriors on this forum have at the very least had their money frozen.......so no...you aint gotta be a crook.

To the OP.....I feel bad for you. But let this be another lesson in putting your faith and business foundation in and on any bell or whistle....especially one that does NOT have to answer to anyone...and they make it very clear in their TOS.

My show Pay Pal Corruption Exposed did massive numbers on Blog Talk Radio.....and I flat out said live on the air.....Please come and sue me.....I welcome it.

But Pay Pal has a problem that is going to arise in the next class action suit...and it's the angle I've been preaching for years......what DO THEY DO WITH THE INTEREST EARNED ON MONEY FROZEN....THEN RETURNED 6 MONTHS LATER...CUZ THEY SURE AS HELL DON'T GIVE IT TO THE POOR SOB THEY ROBBED IT FROM...WHOSE BUSINESS MIGHT HAVE SUFFERED FOR IT AS WELL.

NO ONE has EVER been able to give me the answer on this very forum. NO ONE. And that's why I did the show......and after a year of research.....I can say with certainty ....the "frozen accounts and the interest earned off the millions of dollars held " is big business.

It's the dirty little Pay Pal secret and interestingly enough that was what Pay Pal's attorney told me not to discuss in any way , shape , or forum.

      I wonder why. lol.

And I also know why I was never sued for that show. They would have had to explain what happens to that interest....and I'm not so sure they want to do that.

      Peace, Vegas Vince

Exactly because of these hundreds of thousands of Paypal horror stories,
I am worried now a lot myself, I have my account frozen also,
        and without any reason.

I also had never a single refund request...

Adana....I feel for you. I really do. And those of you who think Pay Pal freezes the accounts of only crooks are living in a land of little green men and friggin' elves...cuz it aint so.

But in good conscience.... I can't or will not EVER provide advice on dealing with Pay Pal based on what I know they have done to a lot of good people. I would be doing you a disservice because shame on them the first time...shame on you the second....and I wouldn't let them have a second chance.

With that said....I can tell you that you set off a red flag which in Pay Pal's case could be anything they drummed up that day to meet their "quota" .....and if you're lucky enough to get your cash back soon.....PLEASE.....explore other options...and get it the hell out of Pay Pal asap.

Once it happens you are on their "list." Basically the only people safe seem to be those whose accounts are at least 5 years old or more...

I'm guessing your crime was making that $900 or what ever it was...a little too fast.....but truthfully..... PayPal as I stated..... can and will and DOES freeze accounts for any reason they choose.

And I told you the reason.

Fill out the paper work I guess......or wait out the 180 days. THEY ARE REQUIRED TO GIVE IT BACK TO YOU AFTER THAT....BUT THEY WONT CALL YOU....YOU HAVE TO CALL THEM..AND THEN BE PREPARED TO GET JERKED AROUND.

Tape their phone calls....let them know after the fact you have done so. But only do that once they have determined to "hold" your money.

I literally almost made the dude I spoke with have a heart attack......as I mentioned to him at the end of another BS conversation that since they were recording me...I had just recorded HIM.....dude flipped out said it was illegal etc etc.

Also...the letters you get from these people...the names are all phony....the responses are all "canned."

So kiss ass and play nice....and this just makes me sick...basically you are gonna have to beg to get your money back....money they in fact stole. Freezing an account without just cause is theft in my book....and I'm sorry you had to face it.

But for you Ebay sellers....here's the evil part......you either piss off your customers trying to explain to them their money was frozen which makes the buyer think you scammed them when u didn't Pay Pal did

.....or you lose your pay pal account.... and they refund the buyers who then take your perfect feedback and destroy it....it's really truly offensive.

Sadly the burden of proof is on you...but the problem is...you don't ever know what to prove.....?

By the time you're done faxing sheets of very sensitive information....keep in mind that they will have enough on you that I personally am sorry I did it. I have had my bank account hacked twice in the past two years...and to this day I believe it very well could have much to do with all the banking info I faxed their stooges...including my passport and state id. Scary ****.

I realize a merchant account like I have.... isn't as easy to get for some as it is for others.....but there are options.... and you need to pursue them...some of which have been discussed by other warriors in this thread.

It's offensive to have your business put on ice....and have people label you this or that....because of their belief that Pay Pal is GOD....when the fact is Pay Pal doesn't care who they hurt...or any regard to the person who might desperately need their money they earned HONESTLY.

          Crooks only? My ass!

I hate to say it....but I took a lot of HEAT ON THIS FORUM 2 or 3 years ago when I flat out predicted this would happen.....and Vinnie told ya so.

I told ya so more then once.

Best of luck.....and I'm sorry you are forced to swallow your pride, and send these jerk offs enough paper work to wall paper a house....but that's the price you pay...when Pay Pal decides you fit their "profile."

          Take Care, Vegas Vince

Thats funny, because I "HATE" the way they accept credit cards, normal credit cards you have 30-60 days to dispute but "some" credit cards (as they explained to me when they yanked 300+ out of my checking account to cover a dispute) can dispute up to 1 year later! One year, are you kidding me???

I quit selling on Ebay after that. Only just now coming back to selling on the internet after a long hiatus. Decided just need to sell more, because it is all about numbers. Sell enough and you don't care about that one criminal dispute.

And has anyone seen a hike in fees lately? I received a $4 payment from IMgigz and it cost 42 cents in fees. Over 10%?

Because honest businesses get shut down without rhyme or reason. All the time.

EDIT: And what Vinnie said is true.

Check this out - you can read the thread I posted yesterday about help, so I won't go into details here...but...

Paypal, when they shut me down, actually STOLE, yes STOLE money I had paid to my web host, software, and a wso I purchased. The REVERSED all that money that was paid. Not a peep to those people why - but now I have 10 people banging at my door, wondering why on earth I did a "chargeback".

Let me tell you something - PayPal will screw you over. I never thought it would happen to me. But it did. So yes, be afraid. If you overly rely on paypal, they could come a knockin' and you could find yourself out of a business.

This is what I would do :

Give them all the info they requested and upgrade to a business account.
Give it a few business days. Nothing? Then I would call.

PS: This usually happens when a paypal account not verified more information is needed, account being fairly new,and most importantly if any suspicious activity wad taken into notice...so if you have a new account and your dropping in $350 a day papal gets worried and would wanna talk to you

Read VegasVince post carefully. Everything he says is 100% true. It happened to me also. Almost word for word. And no I was not scamming people or doing anything wrong. I was as legit and transparent as humanly possible.

I still use them on a very limited basis with a new account. Mainly for small amounts and some of my affiliate partners require PayPal to deposit affiliate earnings, so it is necessary, but I keep only about $100 daily balance in the account.

I also have a debit card attached to the account and withdraw the cash often. He who has the gold makes the rules!

Start with 2checkout, then as your business grows, go to a regular merchant account, but steer away from PayPal for serious business endeavors. Just my opinion, based on personal history.

Most of the writing sites only pay via Paypal, so I suggest writers be VERY AWARE of this. I believe a Warrior has already had her account frozen pretty recently.

I don't know why any proper IM'er would go with Paypal. "Customers trust it" makes no sense to me when I consider that most online shopping sites do not use Paypal.

If you want to accept credit cards you can use Amazon or Google or 2Checkout. I really don't understand why so many people use Paypal if they don't have to.

Im in the process of setting up my first WSO but Im unsure about Pay Pal because of the horror stories ive heard online. I also don't want my WSO to suffer as pay pal seems to be the place everyone is using. Hmm I have a very strong offer with a great guarantee so I think ill use 2 checkout as my processor of choice since the funds will be deposited directly into my account and I won't run the risk of having my account frozen. Thanks for the info prodigymike and others. It was helpful
