Not EVERY email you send to your lists has to sell something...

I just sent out a broadcast email to each and every list I have:

SUBJECT: Happy Holidays!

BODY: No, really!

Regards,

Vince

    And to you Vince!

Yes, it's nice sometimes just to send a message to your list which doesn't have some sort of sales pitch attached, and to tell them you are really a nice person to know.

It's also nice to be on the receiving end of it sometimes too!

I'm off to spread my wishes now!

    Thanks again

Merry Xmas and a Prosperous New Year!

  • This Warrior Forum is one place I know where you can actually wish someone well for the holidays and not be perceived as doing it for the chance to sell something, DESPITE the fact that this forum is about making money!

I usually don't even start to sell until the 3rd week, and still very moderately after that.

People seem to respect that more and convert just as easily.

Vince, this is so true. Every so often I send a "PR email" which is what I call a message that's meant to build a relationship with your subscribers instead of pitch a product. These type of emails help to improve the conversion of future emails you send. If you subscribers know and trust you, they are more likely to buy things you recommend.

My last email for one of my lists was a simple happy holidays message, but I also added a funny viral video. My list loved this message and it produced the highest number of positive replies all year. Here was the message and video:

SUBJECT: A holiday wish for [FirstName]

    Hi [FirstName],

We'd like to take a minute to wish you a very happy holiday season and all the best in 2009.

To cap off a great year for RecipeSecrets.net, Chef Tom and I just recorded our shameless holiday dance. This year, we had a special surprise guest. Watch us bust a move, go to:
