Hey everybody, Let me be among the first to wish everyone a merry Christmas. I have just a quick question regarding Wordpress. Is it possible to install WP as a component of an existing website? For example, I have a specific area on the existing site, where I'd like the blog to be displayed. Or, do I need to replace the entire existing site with WP? Talltom |

You can install WP in its own directory on a website. You do not have to wipe out your site to have WP.

Robin is right! Just put it in it's own directory. For example on my bassfishingohio.com site my blog is in my bassblog directory. So, to get to the blog you just type http://www.bassfishingohio.com/bassblog/ |

Put it in its own directory or subdomain and link to it (if you like) from your main site and vice versa. Merry Christmas Leanne |

So you've got the answer, but I recommend that you consider designing your site infrastructure again. It may help you maintain the site more effectively in the long run. WP is able to manage both static and blog pages and if you have WP manage all your pages, you will benefit from the instant publishing backend and consistency in the look and feel, among others. |
