Promoting Affiliate product

Until now I have just done adsense sites. I want to try promoting a few affiliate products like from CB.

Do I make the site just like I would any other niche site?
keyword based domain, articles?

One of the things I have been wondering is lets say I start promoting product/offer XYZ. I build a bunch of back links based on keywords for that product.
What happens if I determine that isn't a good product or what ever
and I want to start promoting product/offer ABC if the keywords are different?

Are all those backlinks wasted? Do i need to change domain names?
Should I use a more general domain name?

Any input would be helpful.

    If you want to promote other products using another domain name, then you need to build your backlinks all over again.

    It is ok to use a more general domain name e.g. dogtraining.com as you could promote a ton of different products. Hope that helps.

    you should research more on products when you are thinking to advertise them. you should search in google adwords which have more search in search engines. when you have completed you search ,then use related keywords and backlinkings in your site.

    i also think changing meta tag can work without changing domain name.
