I will like to start setting up blogs for people in the IM niche just to get some seed capital but I don't have a dime right now.
Things I can do?
I can install wordpress, add plugin for seo, embed video in post, create a contact us form, create auto responder form, create the amazon astore, add adsense to the blog, embed links to affiliate products, add widgets, get a good theme, but I dont know how to do graphics like header.
Would people pay me without the graphics in header?
Also, can I start by offering this service FREE like it is being suggested to those who want to start as article writers?

Please help me with your suggestions.thanks.

Usually people will look for someone that do all those things in one package (including the graphics). If you really don't have the skill needed to do the graphics, you can look for someone that can do it for you.

If you are short of money, You can always find something to sell (maybe psp, or xbox, or CDs).

    OR,

You can ask someone that you know to do the offer as a joint venture? let's say splitting up whatever you get from installing wordpress with your friend.

    Hope this helps,
    William.

If you offer it free, you don't need to worry about graphics. Alternatively, you could sell your website building services and ask for half or the full amount upfront and state that this will cover the graphics/headers. You can then head over to Fiverr to get this done at a low cost to you.

Hey just some personal experiences here.....

I dont think offering something completely free is ever a great idea. Whether online or offline, this can lead to a huge headache. People who expect things for free are going to be difficult to please in the long-run.

Here's something that may get you going, hope it helps:

Offer your services, and tell people they dont have to pay until AFTER everything has been completed and they are satisfied. This will get people interested because they dont have to pay upfront, and you still get paid most of the time on the backend.

If you get some difficult people who dont pay, forget about it. You are building a business here and cant please everyone.

Take a look at fiverr.com You might be able to find someone that does graphics for cheap. They have a lot of people that do logos, etc. You may have to weed through them to find someone good, but if you can build the site for free and pay $5 for a header you maybe alright offering cheap websites.

Also, If you are going to offer the site for very low cost ( wouldn't recommend free ) set up an affiliate acct with hostgator.com

When someone needs a site, shoot them to hostgator.com to host their site ( they are very good and pretty cheap ) + you get a small piece.

They have to host somewhere anyways and are going to be spending the money regardless, right?

I agree w/ Jeremy. I wouldn't offer anything for free. I may offer a special and the first 3 people I would do for free or @ a discount in return for a referral.

Hope that helps a little bit.

Thank you all for your response. I am going to run with this one. Am glad that you all have been very helpful here.

One more thing: what is the price range for this kind of service

      Hi jideofor,

If you are on a low budget then the solution may be the bartering. Offer your aforesaid services to a designer in exchage for graphics. In this way, you don't have to pay.

It may be a win-win for the future. You can recommend his work to others, he also can recommend your work to his customers.

      Many successes,

      Sandor
