Specifically, I am wondering if there is a widget I could place on an article directory where an author could click and easily send an update to Twitter with a preset message and a link to that article page. Something like: "Check out my latest article at <URL HERE>." Allen Graves |

Allen, if your article directory supplies RSS feeds, all you need is twitterfeed.com : feed your blog to twitter - post RSS to twitter automatically. Enjoy! |

Thanks, Chris. That looks good, but do you know of one where it would post to THEIR Twitter account? Obviously they would have to enter their TID AL |

Allen, That's how this service works. If you provide them with an RSS feed for their articles, they can create the account at Twitterfeed.com, put in their RSS feed (or ANY RSS feed), and it will post to their Twitter account automatically. And it's free! |

although a bit of code tweaking can be made for non-WordPress sites, such as an article directory: Rapid Twitter Marketing - Manuel Viloria.com Kind regards, Manuel Viloria P.S. The difference between this and the TwitterFeed approach is that other people who visit the article directory and who also have Twitter accounts (but do not use TwitterFeed) can help promote the article page's URL via Twitter. | |

One thing to keep in mind- Twitter does not substitute any variables in your posts. So if you are using the Aweber-Twitter feature and have a {firstname} tag in your subject line, that tag will appear as-is on Twitter, which looks really bad.
