Hi Warriors, is anyone able to figure out why my site has completely disappeared from Google search results?

I can't post the URL here due to forum restrictions, if you don't mind emailing me I can send it to you... please feel free to email me - davidportney@gmail.com

Thanks!

David

I assume it's a new domain? If so then it happens to everyone who gets a new domain. It should be back up in a few days though. Just keep checking on it and in the mean time get your content from other 2.0 sites etc. in the SERPs to lead back to your site.

Yes it is a new site - I put it up in September and added 70+ pages in October, it was ranking around 200 for my keyword phrase "public speaking training" and for the last 30 days it's been nowhere to be found in Google.

What do you mean by "get my content from other 2.0 sites", I'm fairly savvy but I'm not sure what you mean, could you fill me in? ;-) THANKS!

Basically meant for instance making squidoo lenses, hub pages, etc. Just make sure none of this content is the same on your site and you can link back to it for a few quick backlinks.

Use site:www.yourdomain.com in google to make sure it's actually indexed and not just too far down the ranks for tools to not be able to show you rank for it if you haven't already.

If this is the case then you can start building backlinks by bookmarking 1 page a day to various social bookmarking sites. You can use socialmarker to make the task somewhat quicker.

Did you use your keywords too much on your pages? I've known of people stuffing pages with a lot of keywords or using one keyword way too much and got penalized for it.

Aha, thanks - yes, I've been using socialmarker for backlinking, created hub and squidoo pages too. I don't think that I've overdone the keywords as I've been cognizant and careful for that, and my Google Webmaster account indicates no problems (site in question is in my signature) and site:mysite search does show that it's all indexed.

Can you point me to a tool that can indeed tell me the Google rank position of my site?

      THANKS again!

Purchased traffic could have also been a reason if that's something you did.

Thank you for that - no purchased traffic. I set the site up according to "white hat" standards and with the exception of doing a little social bookmarking for the site, I can't think of what's pissing Google off - I rank 4th position on first page in MSN for "public speaking training" (URL in question is in my signature).

      THANKS!

Here's one that checks in the top 1000 ranks: SeoSerp web tools Google Top 1000 SERPs checker: results many countries Google Pagerank SERPs index results web SEO tools I use that regularly and is very useful.

Hmm... Well they are indexed still so that's one good sign. I believe you might have to build more backlinks. Have you been commenting on related blogs with PR and have do follow links?

You can also see about submitting RSS Feeds. Since your stat appears to be a static site you can use FeedYes - FeedYes.com gives rss feeds to sites without feeds which can make an rss feed from your pages.

Also how many sites you social bookmark to? I usually social bookmark to 30+ sites.

That is an amazing site. You are giving cool info. I bookmarked it.
I suggest don't worry too much, with a site like that (or for that matter any site that has excellent content), SE will automatically rank it high. Might take some time, but for sure it will rank high.

Hey, thanks very much for your kind words and for bookmarking my site. I'm pretty much not holding back, and posting a lot of high-level content hoping to build up a nice email list; the monetization part is that I've got workshop/trainings to sell, and soon my home study course will be done. But I'm trying to provide tons of truly valuable high-level content in the hopes of getting some good target market prospects to see I know my stuff, get them into a comfort zone, and turn some prospects into clients.

But I really am worried about the site since completely disappearing from Google! :-O

        THANKS!

Adding 70+ pages in one month could trigger a red flag with Google so you might get sand-boxed while they check it out. If your site is fine they should release it back soon. I would pace out adding content so it looks like your site is being updated frequently vs. 70 new pages popping up between Google crawls.

I was wondering about that. I asked my guru, he said 100 pages in a month is not a red flag to Google. I did add the pages one at a time, FTP'd about one or two per day, as I wrote them.... Whaddya think??--do you have any direct experience with a site disappearing then reappearing?

        THANKS!

Using socialmarker, I typically bookmark Propeller, Digg, Delicious, Twitter, Technorati, StumbleUpon, and Reddit. Ed Dale of 30 day challenge recommended that.

I've done some blog commenting, but I can't tell if they're follow links or not: I have Market Samurai and should dig deeper, but have not found many follow blogs on my topic, or with decent PR either.

RSS Feed: do I need to make an RSS feed for each page, or how does that work?

      THANKS!

I assume you have been sandboxed.

This is the area that I love, REALLY I DO,. When some of my sites are sandboxed ( dissapeared from google ) I am doing all sort of link building. Trying to get at least 20-30k backlinks to my site before it ranks in google again. So after 2-3 months waiting and hard working I see a results from google and guest what my site is ranking much higher than before.

I have expirence this 10-15 times and I can say is working.

I suggest you do some hard link building, Directories, WP sponsors, all sorth that you can think off.

You will rock belive me. One of my site was 10 page for the keyword of free web hosting and I got sandboxed after 2-3 months I see my site in google on the 2nd page and guest what I am still rocking

    Hope you got the idea

I understand - you're saying that I should build up thousands of backlinks while I'm in the sand box, and when Google releases me I'll rank much higher than before.

My current understanding of getting back links is that it's not quantity, it's quality that counts, and that I should be seeking backlinks 1) from pages that have a high Google page rank and 2) are on my topic.

What would you suggest as the optimum backlink generation strategy for me to persue?

      THANKS!
      David

I recommend you use SEO For Firefox plugin. It highlights no follow links in red. As far as backlink strategy goes you can make a RSS Feed and then submit it to sites like goldenfeed, feedage etc. Comment on blogs with at least a PR of 1 or more and try to find ones with do follow links on them. Also you can sign up at forums that's related to your niche and add a link to your site in your signature (be sure to read the rules to make sure they allow signatures).
